Im trying to change the size of the lightbox image that pops up when you click on a portfolio item. The lightbox image seems to be a little small for the display sizes that are available now.
I have looked at the functions-enfold.php document. That is the only place that shows a size of 1030 which the lighbox images seem to be.
I looked at the theme functions (functions.php) and that only shows the sizes for the images of the finished images sizes for thumbnails and the images on the page….. NOT the lightbox.
I tried changing the size on the functions-enfold.php document and then making a new page and importing new images from scratch the make the images but they stay the same size as before.
Any help would be appreciated!
December 3, 2014 at 11:42 pm #362585Hey mecdesign!
The image that pops up in the magnific popup is going to the fullsized image and not a thumbnail. The magnific script is going to constrain it so it fits as large as possible inside your screen dimensions. I recommend keeping it like this otherwise it will annoy users (especially on mobiles) as they will have to scroll around to see the full image.
Cheers!
ElliottDecember 4, 2014 at 11:47 am #362786Ok I understand that of course but is there any way that we can increase the percentage that it shows.
I have attached an image and as you can see with the larger screen it looks quite small and yet when I make the browser smaller it makes it smaller so that it fits in nicely. Is there anyway of increasing the percentage of the screen that it uses so that when it is a little larger and then it reacting the same when the browser is smaller?
Thanks

December 4, 2014 at 10:39 pm #363286Hi!
I don’t think magnific has an option for that unfortunately, http://dimsemenov.com/plugins/magnific-popup/documentation.html.
You can try upscaling the image in an image editing program before you upload it but it may make it blurry (though it should still look fine on screens smaller than it’s original size).

ElliottDecember 5, 2014 at 3:26 pm #363574Hello Elliott,
I did try using and importing a different sized image but it doesnt make any difference.
The original images were 1000×700 and then I uploaded the image as you saw and the original size of them is 1800×1200 and that then brings it in as small as before.
I clicked on the image and it is bringing it in at 1030 which is the same as a setting in the enfold_function page but unfortunately when I alter that and re-import a larger image nothing happens so I changed it back.
I will enquire about it with the plugin people from magnific.
thanks
December 6, 2014 at 11:55 pm #364164Hey!
It’s not about the size of the image. Maginific will always constrain it to fit inside your screen. This is a good feature to have because users get annoyed when they have to scroll horizontally. And if you were to change that then it would break the display on mobiles.
Changing this would have to be considered custom work though. You can try contacting the magnific authors for more information.

December 5, 2015 at 7:33 am #547362I know it’s been a while on this, but I figured out the issue while trying to fix it myself. When using the portfolio grid it links to the ‘large size’ set by WordPress. To change this go to settings>media and change the max width and height of your Large Size. Once this is complete you’ll need to regenerate your thumbnails. I use the plugin “Regenerate Thumbnails”.
