hello,
i purchased one regular license for one theme, and use it for myself and made a website. i uploaded the same theme (same lisence) for layout purposes to show my customer how it works for them on their own domain and customized it for them. now i have learned, that you have to purchase a new license for each endproduct, which is fine for me.
now my question:
do i have to upload the theme (with the new license) again on to the customers webspace, and start customising the site all over again? is the license code integrated? or is it just fine to have proof with the purchase invoice including the stated license code?

You can simply purchase a second license and that would be fine. You do not need to re-create your website :)
