hi there,
think i’ve asked a similar question before but get so confused about the licence, usually just say refer to the licence terms and conditions on themeforest. but in a nutshell can you explain the following if poss please. your support is excellent so i’m sure you’ll be up to the challenge :-)
i have somebody that wants me to build a site but they aren’t the most reliable sort. i want to build it with enfold but don’t really want to pay out for the theme until i’m sure they want to go ahead for certain. so could i install the theme and knock up a rough sample for them, using the zip file i’ve already purchased. and then when they give me the all clear and pay me the money, could i then just purchase them a regular licence just to they are covered for having a paid for licence? this would give me peace of mind and allow me to at least knock up a sample of some sort just to see how serious they are.
thanks,
paul
Hey paulrt27!
Ultimately ThemeForest (Envato) are the ones writing the license but the above, from my understanding, would not be allowable with the license.
It could however be more of an edge case where you aren’t actually transferring the license at that point so it would be okay. Ultimately we don’t police licenses and have no callback within the theme to verify the theme usage.
Cheers!
