There is lots of blank space in my sidebar due to which the contents after the sidebar seems to be squeezed. How can i reduce the width of the side bar?
June 27, 2013 at 4:02 pm #126643Hi,
You can entirely remove the sidebar and instead add a widget area as an element. This way the top of the page will have a sidebar but when the sidebar runs out, the page will switch to full size. add a 2/3 column element and 1/3 column element and in 1/3 element position the widget area element with a custom sidebar you’ve made containing the widgets you want to display. Then when you added enough content in the left 2/3 column that its now longer than the widgets, you add a 1/1 element under the two above, and continue adding content, this time in full screen.
Thanks,
Nick
July 2, 2013 at 8:51 am #126644Hi,
I actually want to keep the current layout as such(the page navigation in sidebar), once the empty space is reduced it will be perfect so is there any other way, also i am already having a 3/4 and 1/4 layout after the sidebar. This 1/4 layout is already creating troubles(alignment problem) while viewed in a tablet.
thanks
July 2, 2013 at 2:11 pm #126645Hi,
There is no way for you keep the current layout you have and have the sidebar end prematurely in any wordpress theme. The solution I suggested is the only viable one. Since you have a 3/4 and 1/4 , you would have 1/2 and 1/4 and 1/4 for the part of the page where you want the sidebar, and below it you will have the 3/4 and 1/4
Thanks,
Nick
July 3, 2013 at 3:00 am #126646I think i could edit the css within the ftp. If you can help me with the code i need to edit.
July 3, 2013 at 5:35 am #126647Also am having trouble with my homepage slider, it looks perfect fit on my pc/laptop and mobile but only half of the contents is visible in my tablet(may be the slider is not re-sizing as it should be).
Thanks

July 8, 2013 at 4:27 am #126651currently i have found a solution…I just removed my 1/4th layout which was on the right(so the congested effect is reduced now).I am now having trouble with my layer slider. When it is viewed on my pc and mobile it looks fine but when i view it on a tablet the half of the image is not visible. Can you please help me on this?i have made the background image as of the size of the dummy image which was used there.
July 8, 2013 at 2:55 pm #126652Hi,
Is it the top half or the bottom half? On what tablet android or ipad or win 8? What version of the theme… it would be just easier if we can see the code. Please look on the demo site, kriesi.at/themes/enfold if you can see same problem using a tablet on there with the layer slider.
Thanks,
Nick
July 9, 2013 at 6:39 am #126653Hi its the quarter portion of right side, i have reduced the height of the slider to 350px. Its on android and i am currently using splash blue.I have’nt done anything with the code just replaced the dummy images with some other.
this is our url: http://businetic.com/
we are live now, inorder to prevent the breaking of image in tablet i have aligned the image to the center.still you can see (in a tablet)a bubble is missing for the third slide.
July 9, 2013 at 3:25 pm #126654Hi,
I think the problem is that you changed the height, but all the animations were created for the original height and now some go over the edge since they think the slider is still the old width. Take a look at the balloons animation in Layerslider itself and change the coordinates.
Thanks,
Nick
July 11, 2013 at 2:26 am #126655hi
I guess its not the problem, i was having the same problem even with the default height and width.
thanks
July 11, 2013 at 11:19 am #126656Hi,
I am sorry, but full size its the same slider as located on kriesi.at/themes/enfold but with substituted images. That slider has no issues with Android. So besides image replacement (i assume you used identical sized images in your replacement) if the only difference between yours and the demo is the change of the height via css (which the theme authors say should not be done because it will create problems such as you describe) then I am out of ideas. Have you searched on the LayerSlider forum or asked the developers there about the best way to resize a slider ?
Thanks,
Nick
July 12, 2013 at 2:19 am #126657HI,
Okay, as you can see i just replaced the image with new ones, but of different size.I haven’t touched any code of the slider. As you can test by reducing the size of the default slider by reducing the browser size in pc, at certain point the same issue arises. No i haven’t searched for that.
Thanks
July 14, 2013 at 5:00 pm #126658Hi judetsai,
The way the layer slider adjusts for responsive changes is when the slide actually loads in. So if you adjust the width of the browser while the current slide is showing it will always look odd until the next slide loads in.

Devin
July 15, 2013 at 2:14 am #126659Hi Devin,
But it seems to be non responsive in the tablet that is my current issue. Can you please have a look of the website in a tab(android is the one i am using) and help me with that.I have currently centered the image to prevent the odd behaviour. I you have a look at the 3rd slide You may notice the difference in the slide where one of the last smaller bubble is missing in the tablet
Thanks
July 16, 2013 at 1:40 am #126660I don’t think any of us actually have that specific device to test on but generally things are only tested on device specific widths. IE, using something like http://www.responsinator.com/ and what devices are available.
Keep in mind that *you* have control over how the slideshow responds to device widths so you can change the settings for the container in the Global Settings for the slideshow (when editing a slider) if its cutting off something you want to show.
Also, the positioning of the individual elements within your slider can determine how it responds. So saying something should be 50% from the right is different than 200px from the right.
July 16, 2013 at 2:20 am #126661Okay Thanks Devin I will check with that.
July 16, 2013 at 7:13 pm #126662Let us know how it goes but I believe the issue is probably fixable with changing some settings on the individual slides and global settings. LayerSlider is great but extremely flexible to the point of complicated.

Devin
July 23, 2013 at 3:24 am #126663Hi Devin,
When the slider is viewed in wider monitor may be 23inch, the slider contents which can be viewed in normal 14 inch screens seemed to be more aligned to the left and the background starts repeating( i guess that is due to exceeding the image width), can you please give me some tips to fix the aligning of contents towards left.
thanks
July 23, 2013 at 6:30 am #126664Hi,
You can specify the Layers Container width on LayerSlider WP > Slides > Global Settings > Basic > Layers Container. Specify the width (px).
(px) This feature is useful if you are using a full-width slider and you want to avoid stretching your layers across the full viewport horizontally. Just specify a custom width in pixels, and the slider will create a centered inner area to place your content into that. Note that this feature is working only with pixel-positioned layers, but you can still use the value '50%' if you want centered positions.

Ismael
July 24, 2013 at 2:54 am #126665Hi,
I first added 50% to the layer container, the slider just disappeared. Than i tried giving 1600px(its the width of the background image of the slider), the slider disappeared again, so now i replaced it back to the default value 0.
Thanks
July 24, 2013 at 10:39 am #126666Hi,
You can try 1024. The Layers Container option will constrain all elements inside a specific width and the slider will create a centered inner area to place your content into that.

Ismael
July 25, 2013 at 2:57 am #126667Hi Ismael,
Thanks a lot that really helped…i guess almost all the queries i asked about layer slider is solved now…May i know why it doesnt worked for 1600px.
Thanks
July 25, 2013 at 5:14 am #126668Sorry it was okay in my pc (20inch), i tried zooming in and out in my browser its looks perfect(center aligned, it was not like that previously) but when i checked in a 23 inch one its still the same the contents are more aligned to the left. Also i tried zooming out the browser in other systems, the result was not same as the one i found in my pc.my url:http://businetic.com/
The thing is when i logged out from my wp admin panel and tried zooming out the browser, at this time its not working(which was previously working when i was logged in the wp admin panel).
July 25, 2013 at 7:09 am #126669Just to make sure we are on the same page, when you say zooming out or in do you mean the actual zoom on the browser or do you mean resizing the browser window?
Keep in mind that how you specifically position your elements in the slide will effect how they react to the container. So if you use pixels vs percentages for positioning elements or something like that it can change how it responds.
July 25, 2013 at 9:48 am #126670zooming(ctrl+scroll)…now i find that when i view the website while logged in to the wp adminpanel everything looks good the layer is displayed in the manner how i have positioned the contents, even after zooming in or out the browser. But once i am logged out its back to the previous state the contents more aligned to the left.I tried zooming out after logging out the admin panel the layer content seems to start aligning to the left.
July 27, 2013 at 3:39 pm #126671There is nothing built into the theme to support the actual browser zoom. That is completely different and separate from responsive testing/functionality.
Responsiveness refers to the viewers window size or device viewing size. For example, if you put your site into this site you can see how it looks on various device sizes: http://designmodo.com/responsive-test/
