We are sorry for the late reply!
Could you please go to Enfold theme options and disable “Page Preloading” and check if that makes any difference?
Best regards,

Thank you, I will test it.

I did some tests.Setting the preload page options it does speed up the loading of the page. But I also noticed that in this way, when you open the page, visitors will see the default CSS instead of mine, which will load moments later.
The point is that I need to keep the pre load page on as it has to be but the site is slow.
Tested plugins, tested all, as soon as I activate the Child theme, all becomes much slower.
How do I fix that?
Marco

The server response times are pretty high if you look at the test in private, almost 2 seconds. Does that improve when you deactivate the child? If so then please post admin login details in private so that we can look at what you have in your child theme.

thanks for replying.
Absolutely, the speed increases a lot when I deactivate the Child theme. You can try it yourself. The values in Google speed test increase about 10 points but the real difference is browsing the website. The speed is very good when the Child theme is off.
Access details in private.
July 14, 2020 at 8:53 am #1230222Hi,
Thanks for that. Please try to remove the different customisation and add them back one by one and test for speed after every change, then you will know which customisations is causing the speed problem on your site.

when you talk about customization, do you mean the CSS? or the PHP code? Or th plugins?

MarcoJuly 15, 2020 at 7:27 am #1230520Hi Marco,
I’m mostly referring to the PHP code, the CSS shouldn’t have much of an impact, but you could try removing that as well. The plugins are the same as when you tested with the parent theme, correct? So they shouldn’t make any difference.

I tried it both, removing the PHP code, removing the CSS, disabling the plugins.
But nothing is compared to the speed I get once I deactivated the childe theme. You do the test please, just deactivate the child theme and see how fast the site gets. And once I reactivate the child, the sites slows down again.

The whole point of removing everything from the child theme is to test the speed with a clean child theme. I see that all your customisations are still there, so there’s not much point in me testing anything. Maybe you could download your current child theme to your local machine, then install a clean child theme, then we can have a closer look at it. If the test times are the same, then you can start adding your customisations back.
Best regards,
Rikard -
