Our Layersliders haven’t been working on the admin side since we upgraded to 2.7. After completing one of the fixes recommended, I was able to get to get it to work on the public side, but not on the admin side.
I upgraded Enfold to 2.8.1 yesterday and the same thing happened. At first, the public side was broken, but I added the code to get it to work. BUT the original slides are not editable, when you go to the layers portion below the preview, you do not see the styling options: content, transition, link, styles or attributes. That is all blank.
I checked with the hosting company and they tell me:
currently running PHP 5.3 and you do appear to have Multi-byte String Extension enabled
PHP DOM is already installed on your server, as well as mbstring/mbregex
looks like you needed the mbregex plugin installed, doneSo with that, I created a new test slider and it works fine. If you go into the layer slider plugin (link provided in in private content area) you would select go into a slider from the list (not test). Toward the bottom are the layers. They should open a submenu for setup, but the original ones do not open.
I created a ‘test’ one just now and it functions properly and is editable.
I also exported the Sale Banner 2 and reimported it but it is still not editable.
Thanks Lynn

Have you tried disabling all third-party plugins to see if it gets fixed?

Thanks for your help. If I turn off all plugins, the layer slider works, but it conflicts with even my most important plugins like WPSEO by Yoast, Akismet and Quickcache.
Is there anyway to get them all to play nice?
Thanks again,
LynnJune 13, 2014 at 6:18 pm #278668Hi Lynn!
Are you sure are those three plugins? many Enfold users use Akismet and WP SEO without issues so far. Maybe QuickCache is the culprit of the issue/

Sorry for the delayed response. Yes, I have tried each of the above plugins as the ‘only active plugin’ and activating any of them breaks the ability to update any Layersliders. QuickCache was turned off for these tests. I just tried them again and still no luck. If we deactivate all of the plugins then the Layerslider is editable.
I’m using version 2.8.1 of Enfold and WP 3.9.1. I updated Enfold via ftp around the 1st of May. It included updating the Layerslider folder.July 2, 2014 at 4:27 pm #286258I found it! BUT…
It is the allocated memory. I increased it to 250 Mb (somehow my wp-config was at 128mb) and now the Layersliders work and are editable.
BUT, I am not able to update the Wordfence plugin. It gives me this popular error.
Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 60293120) (tried to allocate 4395608 bytes) in /home/sterling/public_html/wp-admin/includes/file.php on line 693
I thought since I increased the memory it would fix this too.
Thanks -Lynn
July 2, 2014 at 6:45 pm #286324Hi!
Maybe you need even more memory, it would be better contacting Wordfence support as this is not a theme issue after all.
Cheers!
