Hi!
After restoring my website and updating all the plugins step by step, I realized, that the new LayerSlider Version in Enfold 3.4.7 does not work anymore with the WPML String translation. The strings are shown in the wrong language.
All the plugins and WordPress itself are up2date. Just the Enfold Theme is restored to Version 3.4.6.
As soon as I update to 3.4.7 the translation is mixed up.Do you have any idea what could be the reason for this problem?
Thx for your help, best regards
January 8, 2016 at 3:43 pm #562029Hey fschrichten!
try to deactivate all other plugins, to check if one is causing this issue. Contact WPML support about this as well. Send us admin access, so we can take a deeper look into it.
Cheers!
AndyJanuary 8, 2016 at 4:06 pm #562060Hi Andy,
I’ve already contacted WPML Support and they told me the same, so I deactivated all other plugins. Without any success.
Attached the admin access within the private content. If you like, you can update the Enfold Theme to 3.4.7 and see what happens with the strings in the LayerSlider (Backup exists)
Thx, Frederic

If I am not mistaken, the content of the layer slider cannot be translated automatically. How did you translate it? You have to create a single slider for each language.

IsmaelJanuary 11, 2016 at 9:52 am #563010Hi Ismael,
I translated the strings with the WPML String Translation Plugin, because I didn’t want to create 30 single layer sliders ;-)
This worked quite well, until I updated to Enfold 3.4.7 and the new layer slider version.Best regards,
FredericJanuary 12, 2016 at 9:42 am #563767Hey!
I looked for the LayerSlider WP domain and it doesn’t exist. Did you delete those? According to the forum, it’s not possible to translate the slider’s layers with their plugin. I’m not sure how you did it before but I think it will help if you will open a new ticket in the WPML forum.

IsmaelJanuary 12, 2016 at 11:36 am #563809Hi Ismael,
which domain are you talking about? Well, right now it seems to be possible. Because all the strings are translated correctly (see screenshot in my previous post).
Please check this link and switch between the languages. You’ll see the different translation for the sentence that appears at the end of the animation:
http://www.stabalux.com/de/pfosten-riegel-fassade-stahl/stabalux-sr/
We’re running on Enfold 3.4.6, because everything seems to be fine up to this version. You’re welcome to check the backend, where I translated the strings with the plugin.
Regards, Frederic

January 13, 2016 at 7:15 am #564376Hi!
I did check the Strings Translations panel but I can’t find the LayerSlider WP domain as described on the screenshot. I didn’t know that you have to search for the actual string instead of the domain name. I found the string but I would like to ask which slider are you trying to translate now?
Best regards,
IsmaelJanuary 13, 2016 at 10:23 am #564475Hi!
I updated now to Enfold 3.4.7. So that you can see that the strings aren’t translated correctly anymore.
It should look like this:DE: Die Idee von Klarheit
NL: Het idee van helderheid
EN: The idea of clarity
FR: L’idée de clarté
PL: Idea prosta i jasnaYou can check the Layer Slider Stabalux SR (ID 10) at the following URL:
http://www.stabalux.com/de/pfosten-riegel-fassade-stahl/stabalux-sr/
At the String translation panel, just search for the word “Klarheit”. You’ll get 6 results (LayerSlider #9 – #15)
Cheers!
January 14, 2016 at 3:47 pm #565449Hey!
curious about what WPML support is saying about this. Can you send us the link to your ticket please?

AndyJanuary 14, 2016 at 4:05 pm #565476Hey! Sry, but the thread only exists in german.
https://wpml.org/de/forums/topic/wpml-string-translation-fuer-layerslider-wp/
WPML support told me, to check the chrome javascript console for the LayerSlider page. Maybe this might help:[body#top.page.page-id-21.page-child.parent-pageid-19.page-template-default.stretched.open_sans, prevObject: m.fn.init[1], context: document, selector: "body"] GET chrome-extension://boadgeojelhgndaghljhdicfkmllpafd/cast_sender.js net::ERR_FAILED SVG's SMIL animations (<animate>, <set>, etc.) are deprecated and will be removed. Please use CSS animations or Web animations instead. GET chrome-extension://dliochdbjfkdbacpmhlcpmleaejidimm/cast_sender.js net::ERR_FAILED GET chrome-extension://fjhoaacokmgbjemoflkofnenfaiekifl/cast_sender.js net::ERR_FAILED
From my point of view, I guess it’s the update of the LayerSlider WP (5.5.0 to 5.6.2) which is included into Enfold 3.4.7.
Cheers!
January 15, 2016 at 1:26 pm #566084Same problem here. Site is in development so I can’t give a link. Any news?
cheers.
January 16, 2016 at 8:33 am #566492Hi!
I’m still not sure why it’s not working but I found a thread with the same issue. They said that it has something to do with the layer slider cache. I’m trying to turn off the layer slider cache but it enables itself back after page reload. We need to disable it manually. If you can provide the FTP details, we’ll test it for you.
Cheers!
IsmaelJanuary 18, 2016 at 1:12 pm #567174Hi!
See FTP credentials in the private content.
Cheers!
January 20, 2016 at 5:49 am #568370Hi!
Turning the ls cache off didn’t help at all. I will have to ask the rest of the support team to help with the thread. Please wait for their response.

IsmaelJanuary 26, 2016 at 10:02 am #571978Hi!
Thanks for you help! Just for your information… I replaced the config-layerslider folder with an older version from a backup, using the layer slider 5.5.0 which works fine so far. The page is live, so I didn’t want our customers to get worried about the wrong languages.
If you have any news/updates concerning this problem, just let me know :-)
In the meantime I’ll use this workaround.Cheers!
January 27, 2016 at 7:04 am #572621Hi,
Glad you found a workaround and sorry for the problems, it will hopefully be solved in a future release. Please let us know if you should need any more help on the topic.

RikardFebruary 23, 2016 at 4:53 pm #587791Hi
I met similar problem with LayerSlider and WPML String Translation.
I am forced to disable Markup caching in LayerSlider advanced options to translate the texts in slides.
If I don’t, texts from the first language displayed are cached as transients and don’t switched when you switch languages.
Even if the problem is solved when disabling the caching, this is still an issue I’d like to see resolved, for performance optimization.
Any news on a solution to use LayerSlider caching?February 25, 2016 at 11:52 am #588946Hi!
Please open a new ticket on the layer slider’s and wpml’s support forum because this is an incompatibility issue between the two. Unfortunately, there’s nothing much we can do on our side. https://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/
Best regards,
IsmaelFebruary 25, 2016 at 12:57 pm #589018Ok. Thanks
