Hi!
I want to have a LayerSlider on top of my shop base page. However, it does not seem to work – when I load the page, there is only a blank space where the LayerSlider should be.
I have created a new page and used the Avia Layout builder to add the LayerSlider, and then set this new page as the shop base page in WooCommerce. The slider works everywhere else – just not on the shop base page.
Any ideas?

July 31, 2014 at 5:27 am #298100Hello,
Have you tried disabling all third-party plugins (except WooCommerce) to see if it gets fixed?

just tried that now. No luck – still just a blank space where the slider should be.
August 2, 2014 at 8:56 am #299092Hey!
The shop page and other Woocommerce pages (product archive pages, cart/checkout page and single product pages) do not support the Fullwidth LayerSlider element because Enfold just uses the default WooCommerce templates which do not support Fullwidth elements. The only possible workaround (which should work without customizing the theme files) is to create a shop page with the template builder (with the Product Slider, Masonry grid or Product grid elements) and to add a LayerSlider to this page. Then install a plugin like: http://wordpress.org/plugins/safe-redirect-manager/ to redirect your current (default) shop page to your custom, template based shop page.
Cheers!
PeterAugust 12, 2014 at 2:07 am #302928I installed the safe-redirect-manager plugin to redirect the Woocommerce shop page to my custom page but it tells me that my custom page can be a URL or a path relative to the root of your website (not your WordPress installation). My custom page resides in the WordPress directory, so how do I make the redirect work? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
August 12, 2014 at 2:38 am #302940Hi!
Try doing the redirect manually by editing the .htaccess file:

JosueAugust 12, 2014 at 2:52 am #302956Hi Josue,
adding a redirect from old file path to new file path to the .htaccess file worked perfectly. Thank you very much for you assistance. Now I can get creative!
Cheers!

JosueAugust 23, 2014 at 1:03 am #308120Hello. I was happy to find this post because this is exactly what my problem is. I could not get the full width slider on the Woocommerce ‘Shop’ page, so I’m trying to create my own ‘Shop’ page with a full width slider…
However, I can’t get the full width slider to work with the Dynamic Template. If I switch back to Predefined Templates > Use global default, the full width slider works. When I select my new Dynamic Template, it does not.
Is there something else I’m missing?

If you follow through with the conversation in this topic you’ll get to Peter’s response here https://kriesi.at/support/topic/layerslider-woocommerce/#post-299092
It isn’t a support function so you would need to force redirect users to a custom page instead of the WooCommerce shop.
Cheers!
DevinSeptember 6, 2014 at 1:58 am #314240Sorry to have to revisit this topic, but…
@Josue, using the redirect worked great for using a custom shop page for woocommerce but now when I go to a link for “my account” I get the “too many redirects” error and it can’t open the page. I’m sorry if this is an easy fix but I don’t know what that fix is… any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
Cheers
UPDATE: I reset my perma-links to default and redirected to the custom shop link and it is working again. I would love to find a more elegant solution though.
