I made a video background and loaded it to a layer slider video layer. I uploaded the video in 3 formats and chose all of them (it’s self hosted html5)
the video works fine on firefox but i only get a static image on chrome.
Can you please tell me why?
June 20, 2018 at 6:16 am #975102Hey rudtek,
Thank you for using Enfold.
Are the videos muted? They don’t play automatically on Chrome because of the new “autoplay” policy.
// https://developers.google.com/web/updates/2017/09/autoplay-policy-changes
Chrome’s autoplay policies are simple:
Muted autoplay is always allowed.
Autoplay with sound is allowed if:
User has interacted with the domain (click, tap, etc.).
On desktop, the user’s Media Engagement Index threshold has been crossed, meaning the user has previously play video with sound.
On mobile, the user has added the site to his or her home screen.
Top frames can delegate autoplay permission to their iframes to allow autoplay with sound.Best regards,
IsmaelJune 20, 2018 at 4:30 pm #975374in the layer slider video layer option i set volume to 0, and it’s still not loading. Any other ideas? Even if I click on the screen, it doesn’t start.

Are you checking on PC or on a Mac?
Best regards,
VictoriaJune 23, 2018 at 6:40 am #976845With Mac & Chrome video is ok but with PC & Chrome there is something wrong with autoplay(?). I think there is only video’s first frame that showing.

I’ll ask my colleagues to check on a PC.

VictoriaJune 23, 2018 at 5:43 pm #977040Hi,
For Chrome on Windows 10, you are getting this error:Uncaught (in promise) DOMException: play() failed because the user didn't interact with the document first. https://goo.gl/xX8pDD
Please visit the url in the error message for more information.
The video does auto play in Firefox & Edge. Please open a new thread so we can try to assist, and include your admin login in the Private Content area, but as this is not your thread your login info will not be private.
Best regards,
Mike -
