Good morning,
New client has Enfold installed (nice!): http://dividedwefall-movie.com/
Now updated to WP 4.2.1 and Enfold advanced from 3.0.8 to 3.1.4
LayerSlider version is 5.3.2Problem: LayerSlider – can not add or duplicate sliders. This was a problem before the update and is not related to the release.
Dashboard> Layer Slider WP > Click the “duplicate” button and it does nothing
OR Click “Add new” (says editing Enfold slider) > give it a name & slug “xx” > SAVE… save confirmed > go to “all” and only 3 demo sliders exist – no new slider.Client thought they had to purchase the LayerSlider plugin and bought it from Code Canyon. so I uninstalled it because it comes with Enfold as it might be the problem… but I did not remove the purchase code.
Can you please help untangle the situation?
May 1, 2015 at 4:11 pm #438160Hey Deb!
could be a problem with php memory limit. You might need to increase it. Contact your host or follow these instructions: http://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Increasing_memory_allocated_to_PHP
Hope this helps.
Cheers!
AndyMay 1, 2015 at 5:00 pm #438182Increase it to what, please? According to Wordfence Memory benchmarking that tests if your WordPress host respects the maximum memory configured in their php.ini file, or if they are using other methods to limit your access to memory.
–Starting test–
Current maximum memory configured in php.ini: 128M
Current memory usage: 35.25M
Setting max memory to 90M.
We have requested 90 megabytes.
Completing test after benchmarking up to 80.25 megabytes.
–Test complete.–Congratulations, your web host allows you to use at least 80.25 megabytes of memory for each PHP process hosting your WordPress site.
May 4, 2015 at 9:31 am #438784Hi!
Could you try to overwrite the theme files via FTP with a fresh copy? http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/
Regards,
RikardMay 4, 2015 at 6:00 pm #439162That was a good idea, I replaced the entire theme but unfortunately, it still has the same problem.
Are there any folder permissions involved?
Should I take out the purchase code from Code Canyon? Thanks
May 5, 2015 at 9:27 am #439575Hi!
Could you try to deactivate all plugins to see if one of them is causing a conflict? If that doesn’t work then please provide us with a temporary admin login so that we can take a closer look. You can post the details here as a private reply.
Best regards,

I deleted the existing sliders that were imported and that let me create a new one. Not sure what’s going on there. Try creating some more sliders. If it gets to the point where it does not let you create another one then it’s probably some kind of server restriction. I would try contacting your hosting provider about this or contact LayerSlider support to see if they have any idea.
Cheers!
ElliottMay 8, 2015 at 5:58 pm #441688Nope – still does not work.
- clicking “add new” edits the TESTING one that you created
- click “duplicate this slider” does nothing
This client bought Enfold for this functionality.
She bought the plugin from code canyon thinking she had to pay and got no help from them.
She added me to her team to untangle it.She says “We give up” – time to move on.
Very sad. :o(
May 8, 2015 at 10:02 pm #441795Hi!
I see. Try turning on WordPress debugging and then try adding a new slider and then check your server error logs to see if there is any information displayed. I would also try contacting the LayerSlider plugin authors about this as well.
A WordPress and theme reinstall might help also. It’s the first time I’ve seen this issue.
Also, I noticed you did not have any published posts. There is a bug with the LayerSlider version which messes up when there are no published posts so be sure to have at least one published.
