We held off upgrading to newer Enfold because it took away the LayerSlider. Finally, we needed to upgrade to HTTPS from HTTP so we decided to upgrade theme as well and finally try to figure out why LayerSlider was not showing up. But now, with HTTPS and the new Enfold install not only is the LayerSlider missing, but we also can’t edit certain pages and if you try to switch to Default Editor it is without success. Thanks for your help.
November 29, 2019 at 7:00 pm #1161317OK, so I fixed everything except for the slider disappearing. The other issues had to do with a conflict with a plugin we don’t need. I was also able to get the slider to start working again when I disabled our Series Engine plugin, but this is one we really need on our site. So, I looked up the front-page of our site using Chrome developer and found this error:
seriesenginefrontend275.js?ver=5.2.4:1172 Uncaught TypeError: jQuery(…).mediaelementplayer is not a function
at HTMLDocument.<anonymous> (seriesenginefrontend275.js?ver=5.2.4:1172)
at i (jquery.js?ver=1.12.4-wp:2)
at Object.fireWith [as resolveWith] (jquery.js?ver=1.12.4-wp:2)
at Function.ready (jquery.js?ver=1.12.4-wp:2)
at HTMLDocument.J (jquery.js?ver=1.12.4-wp:2)I then sent this to the people at Series Engine. I heard back from Series Engine and they said the conflict was with Enfold. Here is what they wrote:
The issue is actually with the theme, not with Layer Slider. There’s a theme setting that turns off media and javascript libraries on certain pages, and that’s what’s causing this JavaScript to fail. Turn that toggle off in your theme settings where those libraries are loaded correctly, and you’ll be good to go.
I have looked everywhere within Enfold to try and find this, but cannot. Any ideas?
