So I have Enfold 6.x / LS 7.12.4 on our live site, and Enfold 7.1.1 / LS 7.14.4 on a staging clone.
On both sites, I can open the wp-admin/admin.php?page=layerslider main admin page. But I can not edit a single LayerSlider slide any more. We rarely do this, so I don’t know when it stopped working.
When loading a slider for editing, the blue loading layer of LayerSlider just stays on top forever. No JS Console messages, and even with WP DEBUG enabled, no serverside errors or messages.
On the LayerSlider Admin page, an update of LS is announced, this is of course not yet included in Enfold. Would that solve the problem? What else could resolve this problem?

UlrichJune 25, 2025 at 7:03 pm #1485901Hey onlineprodcontent,
First off, please make sure that you are running the latest version of the theme (7.1.1): https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-update/.
If you are running a standalone version of LayerSlider, then make sure that you disable the bundled version under Enfold->Layout Builder->Layerslider Options.

like I said in my initial post:
– the problem is with BOTH 7.1.1 and 6.x
– we use the included LS version ( bundled LS version numbers were mentioned in the post, ( Enfold 6.x / LS 7.12.4 , and Enfold 7.1.1 / LS 7.14.4 )Also, on both sites we are on the latest php 7.4 version, matching the requirements of WP, enfold and LS.
Regards UlrichJune 29, 2025 at 12:00 pm #1486103Hi,
What happens if you export your project and import it on a local or staging site?
Best regards,
RikardJune 30, 2025 at 12:47 pm #1486152Like I already said, the problem is also on a staging site that is a clone of the live site. Actually the clone was performed with WP-Staging ( problem still present) and then all pending Updates (Enfold and others) were performed in the clone (problem still present). What exactly do you mean by “export your project”?
If you mean exporting all sliders, and re-importing: I just did so, with no success:
1 – importing a zip of sliders into the staging clone with 6.x Enfold containing LS 7.12.x
2- importing a zip of sliders into the upgraded staging clone 7.1.1 Enfold containing LS 7.14.4
3- disabling all plugins that might interfere with editing, like ACF, RankMath , contentViews,None of these steps were successful. It is still not possible to edit any of the slides. I include a site report in the private area.
July 2, 2025 at 10:12 am #1486230Hi,
Thanks for the update. Could you give us access to the staging site please?
Best regards,
RikardJuly 3, 2025 at 11:48 am #1486273OK, I will paste the data in the secret field. Your user name has admin privileges in the staging site. This staging area is exclusively for you so you can change things etc. but anyway be careful what you do and do not snoop around on the server, since the staging ( done with wp-staging) is in the same file system and database as the main site.
I won’t be available tomorrow, so it would be good if you could just test the access to the test site today, regardless of when you will actually work on it . So we can ensure that you can really access it. Thanks!
Regards
UlrichJuly 4, 2025 at 11:40 am #1486312Hi,
Thanks for that. I tried importing your slides on a local installation, and I can edit them there: https://snipboard.io/iQlG94.jpg. Why it’s not working on your staging site is difficult to say unfortunately, since there are no error messages. Is there really nothing interesting in the server error logs?
Best regards,
RikardJuly 7, 2025 at 11:18 am #1486392Unfortunately not, even with debug enabled. As you may have seen in our environment, it looks as if the edit page simply does not load completey or does not render completely. Are there any debug flags that can be set for the React / JS part of the setup? Or will there be an update of the builtin layerslider version in the near future? If so, we could put the issue on hold for a short period.
July 8, 2025 at 11:36 am #1486454Hi,
LayerSlider is updated with the theme updates, since it’s bundled. If that will fix your problem or not is difficult to say though.
We haven’t implemented any specific debugging ourselves, but maybe you could find something in the LayerSlider documentation?

RikardJuly 15, 2025 at 11:25 am #1486789Hi again,
meanwhile we have migrated our site into a different environment. There, the problems did not occur again.
So even though we did not find out the cause, we can close the case . The new environment brings up a different problem, but I will address it separately ;)
Thank you, best regards,
UlrichJuly 15, 2025 at 2:08 pm #1486807Hi,
Thanks for the update, we’ll close this thread for now then. Please open a new thread if you should have any further questions or problems.
Best regards,
