    Hello Team,

I have purchased Enfold theme few days back, and configured it on heurex.com.

The issue is that while trying to activate LayerSlider few days back, it showed me below pop-up message
“Your purchase code appears to be invalid. Please take special care to enter it correctly without accidentally including spaces or other additional characters. Please note, you can’t activate LayerSlider with your theme’s purchase code. This also can be a temporary issue in our services. In that case please try it again in a few hours.”

I though that there might be some issue and tried activating it today, it showed the same error message again.

I haven’t activated any other website through this purchase, and I am using the right Item Purchase Code.

    Hey shobhit22,

Since the Layer Slider is bundled with the theme you don’t need to put any activation codes into it, it will be updated along with the theme itself.

    Best regards,

    Hi Rikard,

It seems like the versions in LayerSlider is moving much faster than with the Enfold theme? I don’t mind because fast version updates normally indicates bad quality assurance. Is this the reason? You want to make sure that it works correctly with Enfold, so you do not recommend that we upgrade LayerSlider independently from Enfold?

I am using Enfold 4.0.7 which I believe is the latest version. Can you please confirm which LayerSlider version goes with this?

I can see that we now use LayerSlider version 6.4.0. The most current version is 6.5.1. We have a PHP 500 error that I suspect can have to do with LayerSlider, and according to them there might be a fix in 6.5.1:

    Changes in LayerSlider 6.5.1
Fixed a PHP error that might caused HTTP 500 Internal Server Error in some cases with older versions of PHP.

    What to do?

    Hi Terve,

The version bundled is 6.4.0. LayerSlider have been putting out a lot of version lately, that is correct. The reason for that I don’t know, but it has been tested with the current version of Enfold (4.0.7) and should work on most modern web servers. If you are on a server with an old PHP version then that might cause the problem you are having. If you on 5.6 or above you should be ok, could you check if that is the case please?

If you want to run the stand alone version of LayerSlider then you would need to deactivate the bundled version first by adding this to your functions.php file:

    add_theme_support('deactivate_layerslider');

    Best regards,
    Rikard

Hi Rikard, thanks for this. We seem to have 5.6.30-1+wpengine8 as our PHP version. Do you have any visibility on when we can expect a new version supporting LS 6.5.1? I think that we can clearly see that it is a problem with LS, from the error logg:

[Tue Jun 13 03:47:55.468214 2017] [:error] [pid 18285] [client 104.198.14.121:12136] PHP Warning: fopen(/nas/content/live/aptilo/wp-content/plugins/nas/content/live/aptilo/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-layerslider/LayerSlider/layerslider.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /nas/content/live/aptilo/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4784, referer: http://wimaxprepaid.com/wp-cron.php?doing_wp_cron=1497325673.4633779525756835937500

    Hi Terve,

Thanks for the feedback and info, I don’t have an estimate on when the next release will be unfortunately, but hopefully before the end of this month. The log you posted should not cause 500 internal server error since it’s only a warning, not a fatal error which would be another story.

Did you try to do any debugging like disabling plugins and so on? You might want to contact WPEngine as well to see if they can see what is breaking.

Also, are you able to change the PHP version you are on? If so I would recommend that you try out PHP 7.

    Best regards,
    Rikard
