Hi,
I have a big issue with all Layer Slider WP included in my site, styled with Enfold.
Since some days all the sliders disappeared. Can you please tell me how to solve or if I have to write to the guys at Layer Slider WP?
Thanks in advance for your kind answer.December 7, 2019 at 6:18 am #1163535Hey dragomanno,
Sorry for the problem. Please send us a temporary WordPress admin login and login URL so that we can have a closer look. You can post the details in the Private Content section of your reply.
Best regards,
RikardDecember 7, 2019 at 11:53 am #1163560Thanks for reply, I will give you now private access via FTP. I contacted my hosting support and they confirm that this is an issue of both Layer Slider and Enfold after WP core update.
December 8, 2019 at 4:41 am #1163728Hi,
Thanks for the FTP details, but we need access to your WordPress installation as well. Please post WordPress login details in private as well.
Also, what exactly did you hosting provider say was the problem?
Best regards,
RikardDecember 9, 2019 at 1:28 am #1163936The hosting support says I have to check with the theme devs, because everything seems to be right until the date of the main core update of WP November 19th. The question is: OK, now I can restore the version of November 18th and I will disallow automatic update of WordPress core updates, but what happens next time? Should I remain to the old version?
December 9, 2019 at 2:22 am #1163943Hi,
I see that you are using Enfold v3.8.3 and WordPress v5.3 these are not expected to work together. You could update your Enfold via ftp, as long as your webhost sets your PHP version to at least 7.
The easiest and safest way to update is to download the newest version from Theme Forest and rename your current theme folder to “enfold-old” via ftp then upload the new “enfold” folder and check that your site is working correctly.
Once you are happy you can delete the “enfold-old” folder via ftp, (not the WP theme page)
Should for some reason you wish to roll-back to the old version, it’s easy to do, simply rename the new “enfold” folder to “enfold-new” via ftp and then rename “enfold-old” to “enfold” then refresh your page.
Please don’t try to overwrite the theme folder, as this will leave old files behind and cause errors. If you are unsure of doing this we can assist, but we will need your WordPress login also and your latest version of Enfold that you download from Theme Forest, you can upload to DropBox and add the like in the Private Content area.
Or you could “roll back” your WordPress version to about 4.98 with the plugin: WP Downgrade and prevent future updates with the plugin: Disable All WordPress Updates
But this is not a long term solution.Best regards,
MikeDecember 9, 2019 at 11:35 am #1164000Thanks for your kind reply.
The instructions are very easy to follow, I’ll do that now and tell you later.
The last option is what I would like to avoid. Going back to an ancient WordPress version and never update is the *last* solution.December 9, 2019 at 12:13 pm #1164009OK, the problem with the font is resolved (see other post), but I still have the problem with the Layer Slider and also with the header.
Please check, I’ll give you access, you are surely better than me in resolving the problem.
I installed the new “enfold” folder and activated the child theme. Perhaps is that wrong?- This reply was modified 5 years ago by dragomanno.
December 9, 2019 at 12:22 pm #1164017Hi,
Thanks for the login, but the typical login: /wp-admin/ is leading to a 404 for me.
Do you have a hidden login page, or are you blocking some IPs from your login?Best regards,
MikeDecember 9, 2019 at 12:25 pm #1164019Yes, excuse me, I write you in private the login
December 9, 2019 at 12:51 pm #1164027Hi,
Thank you, I found that the images in the sliders were in a different location for the update, so I corrected via FTP, but it seems all of your sliders are from the demo, did you have one you made for your site?
Also your Frontpage in the theme options is not set, please select.
We now have a script error, probably from an old plugin, can I disable your plugins temporarily? Please note some plugins may not retain their settings when disabled. Most do but I wanted to warn you.Best regards,
MikeDecember 9, 2019 at 1:13 pm #1164029Hi,
The error looks like it may be coming fromaddtoany.com/menu/page.js
Best regards,
MikeDecember 9, 2019 at 5:01 pm #1164081Hi and thanks for your kind answer.
We have to solve the core problem, so it’s not a big issue if you disable the plugins. They are not so many.
Perhaps we can also uninstall the Addtoany plugin if we find another equivalent.
The Front page was not selected as one single page, but it must contain the latest 10 blog posts.
It is so now. Latest blog posts as Home Page. If you don’t see this, tell me.
Proceed and thanks for your kind support.- This reply was modified 5 years ago by dragomanno.
December 10, 2019 at 9:30 am #1164345Did you forget me?
December 10, 2019 at 7:16 pm #1164564You asked me if you can disable the plugins, do you intend to do something or for you the case is closed?
ThanksDecember 10, 2019 at 7:45 pm #1164588All the SLiders are from the demo. And they still don’t work.
December 11, 2019 at 12:17 pm #1164793Hi,
Your site seems down right now, is this something you are working on?Best regards,
MikeDecember 11, 2019 at 3:57 pm #1164861Hi, Mike, I made a restore now, because I got the following message
The Layer Slider does not work in any page.
The top left Logo is not visible.
I deleted the Add to Any plugin
I cannot access to the WP panel, but yet the pages are visible and in the next three days I cannot take any further action because I am on travel.
If you can help, it would be nice, otherwise I don’t know what to do.December 11, 2019 at 3:59 pm #1164862I got this message
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare av_countdown_events_fallback() (previously declared in /home/pistakki/public_html/ricordidipalio.org/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/events_countdown/events_countdown.php:16) in /home/pistakki/public_html/ricordidipalio.org/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/events_countdown.php on line 8
There has been a critical error on your website. Now the site is working with all the problems I had when I opened the thread.
December 12, 2019 at 5:47 am #1165062Hi,
Thanks for the update and I’m sorry for your problems. I tried logging into your site but the login details are not working anymore, please check and verify.
The error you are getting is likely due to you overwriting the theme files via FTP? If you did that then please try to completely delete the whole theme folder, then upload it again as you would with any other theme.
Best regards,
RikardDecember 16, 2019 at 10:26 am #1166283Still problems…
Updated Theme with last version and also WP is updated.
I gave you access again. The reason why you were not able to access is due to the fact that the website was not accessible last week and I had to solve the problem by restoring an old backup, which, at least, gave the possibility to see the texts, but deleted your account.
Now you have again access.Problems
Layer Slider is not visibile in every page.
The Logo top left is not visible.
If necessary I can also delete Layer Slider WP plugin, the main thing is that I know how to susbstitute the plugin.
Also the problem of the logo is important.
I gave you now access. the login credentials are the same as last week

December 17, 2019 at 4:04 am #1166648Hi,
Thanks for the update. No styling is loaded all on your site when I check it, and there are a lot of error messages, please see private. Could you try to deactivate all plugins, including your performance plugins, to see what happens then?
Best regards,
RikardDecember 17, 2019 at 10:03 am #1166768Thanks Rikard,
I found the problem.
It was one plugin. For your future reference I tell you which plugin caused the (big) issue, so that you can have it for the future.December 17, 2019 at 4:21 pm #1166886 -
