Hi – I’ve seen a number of posts about this but no manner of fiddling will get it to work!
I have a YouTube URL in a layer set to be a background slide and it’s perfect on my PC but on my iPhone it shows a frame from the movie with a Play button but won’t play. I’ve had it so tapping opens it in a new window (or overlay) but that won’t work. The idea is it’s a moving silent background to the top of the site.
    Anything you can suggest?
I tried a full-width Easy Slider which also mostly worked on PC but I couldn’t get more than a few pixels of it to show up below the header on the phone.
    Thanks,
    Colin

    Hey Colin,

Unfortunately background video cannot autoplay on mobile. This is a limitation of the device itself, and not a theme flaw. Please refer to the following for further explanation: https://www.aerserv.com/blog/why-does-video-autoplay-on-mobile-devices-not-work/

Ah, thank you. That makes perfect sense. I’ll stop trying to make it work! I have succeeded in replacing the layer slider at a break point and introducing a different section at that same point into which I can add a slideshow for mobile. Seems to work.

    Hi,

Great, I’m glad you were able to find a serviceable solution. Did you need further help, or shall we close this particular thread?

Well, it’s a different question, but I am wondering how to fit all the requested menu items on screens that are narrower than 1920 but not tablet/phone size. I’ve hacked it a bit, but unless there’s a tidy way of wrapping the menu items before they overlap the logo I’m not sure what to do. I’ve suggested to the client he nests some of them – would you be able to wrap them – without the indicator I think – at the point before they clash with the logo if you see what I mean?
If this should go elsewhere, just close the thread and I’ll see how it evolves.
    Thanks.

    Hi,

Yes, this is possible. However if you could create separate thread for this issue it would be appreciated. It is simply to help ensure this one stays organized to one topic.

    Best regards,
