For the last two weeks I keep getting this error message. I ran a manual update but it doesn’t appear to fix it.
http://i63.tinypic.com/29wwq3s.jpgWhen I go into the settings after i run the manual update this is the information it displays.
http://i65.tinypic.com/bdmqdf.pngCan anybody tell me how to resolve this issue please? I’ve updated the theme, I’ve updated WP but nothing seems to resolve this.
Thanks

February 19, 2018 at 12:07 pm #914209Hey Steamed,
Please send us a temporary admin login and login URL so that we can have a closer look. You can post the details in the Private Content section of your reply. Also, do you know which version of PHP you are running on the server?
Best regards,
RikardFebruary 20, 2018 at 8:28 am #914734Thanks very much. i don’t know which version of php is running on my server unfortunately
February 20, 2018 at 2:19 pm #914840Hi,
Thanks, can you give us the login page? also can we request for the ftp access? so we can try to check further.
Best regards,
NikkoFebruary 21, 2018 at 8:49 am #915320Sorry, here it is.
February 21, 2018 at 2:17 pm #915452Hi Steamed,
We only see the user and the password. Can you please give us the link to the login page?
Best regards,
VictoriaFebruary 22, 2018 at 9:54 am #915941My apologies, I completely forgot that you’d need that ;)

February 22, 2018 at 1:54 pm #916045February 22, 2018 at 11:44 pm #916414Hi Victoria, I’m not sure what happened there but I’ve reset my password and added it to the private field. Thanks
February 23, 2018 at 7:27 am #916533I ran a few more updates but it still produces the same error messages…. not sure what else to do.
February 23, 2018 at 11:19 am #916586Hi Steamed,
It is not about the password. What is the link that you use to access the WordPress dashboard?
Best regards,
VictoriaFebruary 23, 2018 at 2:33 pm #916702Is that the link you mean?
February 24, 2018 at 9:37 am #917039It appears to be saving some test mods today but no doubt it will play up if you try creating a new slide.
February 24, 2018 at 3:11 pm #917123Hi Steamed,
Yes, that link.
Can you please check server log for error?
Credentials did not work for me. Could you please update the credentials?
Best regards,
VictoriaFebruary 25, 2018 at 12:56 am #917244I’ve updated those credentials only a few days ago and for some reason crazydomains occasionally gives an ‘incorrect password’ message when I try to log in but after 2 attempts this morning it worked. I contacted the technical support from crazydomains and they have said there is nothing wrong.. confusing.
I did find the server logs and After I extract the document it just comes out like jibberish so I’m not sure if it’s supposed to look some something I can decipher but I certainly can’t. I’ve attached the .gz file to the link in the private section..
February 25, 2018 at 10:23 am #917332Quick update, it’s producing that error again when I try to save an update… hopefully you’re able to assist me based on the log I provided.

February 25, 2018 at 2:36 pm #917373Hi Steamed,
This looks like access log or request log, we need the error log. Can you look for that?
Best regards,
VictoriaFebruary 25, 2018 at 9:26 pm #917588I searched manually and couldn’t find the error log. I searched using the function for ‘error’ & ‘log’ and nothing else came up. Are you definitely not able to log into my cpanel and confirm for me? Just to clarify you have to choose ‘hosting manager’ from the drop down box in the login area. If i could find what you wanted id be happy to get it for you but obviously i can’t. This post has been going for 7 days now and still no progress, i just need more help please.
I have been able to log in yesterday and today on multiple devices so it should work for you.
February 26, 2018 at 9:44 am #917711Hi Steamed,
You gave us just the WordPress dashboard access and not the FTP, so we cannot check the log. We cannot diagnose the error like this. Can you give us the cpanel access in private?
Best regards,
VictoriaFebruary 26, 2018 at 9:53 am #917716I think this thread has gotten confusing (probably from me) but the credentials I gave you above are in fact the cpanel ones – post #916414. I’ve posted them in private here again

February 26, 2018 at 11:16 am #917760Hi Steamed,
And there is not link to the cPanel, so we could not guess. Can you post the link too?
Best regards,
VictoriaFebruary 26, 2018 at 11:21 am #917768I posted it separately earlier. Sorry
February 27, 2018 at 7:17 am #918238Hi Steamed,
The error log is empty in cPanel and I could not find the log in the FTP.
Can you please enable debug into a log file and try using the Layer Slider again and maybe the error will be recorded.
Here is how to itIf you need further assistance please let us know.
Best regards,
VictoriaFebruary 28, 2018 at 11:30 am #918960Ok i’ve enabled debug but nothing has changed as I still get the same error message. Not sure if i’m missing something extra to do in the cpanel though.
March 1, 2018 at 8:31 am #919456I found this error log entry, does this mean anything?

March 2, 2018 at 9:51 am #920179Hi,
I tried the cpanel access and it works though wp-admin and crazydomains doesn’t work. Having cpanel access would help a lot, but your site is in maintenance mode and we couldn’t see the issue, please post us your login credentials (in the “private data” field), so we can take a look at your backend.
- Install and activate ” Temporary Login Without Password “.
- Go to ” Users > Temporary Logins ” on the left-side menu.
- Click ” Create New “.
- Add the email address for the account ( you can use (Email address hidden if logged out) ), as well as the ” Role ” making that the highest possible and the expiry about four days
( do be sure that we have enough time to debug ). - Click ” Submit “.
- You’ll now have a temporary account. Please provide us here in the private section the URL, so we can login and help you out.
When your issue is fixed, you can always remove the plugin!
If you prefer to not use the plugin, you can manually create a admin user and post the login credentials in the “private data” field.Best regards,
NikkoMarch 3, 2018 at 6:54 am #920647Thanks for your reply Nikko, I’m confused mate. You said you CAN access the cpanel but then said you needed it? Did you mean that you could NOT access the cpanel?
When you say my site was in maintenance mode, do you mean the hosting provider had gone down? I’m not sure what the maintenance mode is, unless its a setting I had within WP that I’m not aware of.
I’ve installed the Temporary login plugin and i’ve pasted the secure link into the private field.
Thanks very much for your help mate, this issue is driving me nuts.
March 5, 2018 at 11:16 am #921413Hi,
I’m sorry for the confusion. The layer sliders are working properly regardless of what the system status reported. ( see private field )
The “PHP Post Max Size” and “PHP Max Upload Size” values can be increased in the php.ini or the .htaccess file. You can ask your hosting provider or use the following codes.
htaccess:
php_value post_max_size 16M php_value upload_max_filesize 16M
Best regards,
IsmaelMarch 13, 2018 at 8:33 am #925926Thanks Ismael, I appreciate you pushing this thread towards some resolution – it was going nowhere for a few weeks. Can I just clarify whether I can make those value increases myself or is it something my hosting provider has to do for me? I’m only asking because my hosting provider is notoriously difficult when it comes to having them modify any of the back end settings.
Thanks very much
