    Hi,

I have a site here: http://superiorfarms.com/ where the top element is a LayerSlider. Slide #2 and #4 show videos. The videos play great until you try and view them on mobile. On mobile the video loads and plays for a couple of seconds before the screen goes black. The sound continues but with no visual.

Any ideas as to what I did wrong or how to fix?

    Thanks

    Hey Slade!

You are using an old version of the theme, so please upgrade to Enfold 3.4.7 and let us know if you still need help afterwards.

Try to deactivate all plugins to check if one is causing this issue. Clear browser cache and hard refresh a few times.

    Regards,
    Andy

    Hi Andy,

I have updated Enfold, deactivated plugins 1-by-1 and cleared browser cache….the video still loads for about 3 seconds and then goes blank (voice continues to play).

    Hi!

This could be happening due to custom codec used to encode the video. Some video codec is not supported by all mobile phones. Why don’t you try uploading the video to youtube and link the youtube video or try downloading and hosting the youtube video in mp4 format it might play correctly.

Another reason this is possible is because of js conflict so disable the layerslider and insert the video into the wordpress page using advance layout builder. See of that plays the video correctly so you will come to know what is causing this issue.

    Best regards,
    Vinay

    Hi Vinay,

It is just .mp4. Here is what I am using for the LayerSlider slide `<video poster=”http://superiorfarms.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/lamb_final_vimeo-poster.jpg&#8221; width=”850″ height=”478″ preload=”metadata” controls>
    <source src=”http://superiorfarms.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/Lamb_FINAL_Vimeo-HD-SD.mp4&#8243; type=”video/mp4″>
    </video>`

The video is uploaded to Youtube and I would love to go that route but I cannot for the life of me get youtube to work within LayerSlider. I’ve tried everything but it always shows up as a tiny (80px wide at most) video. Some issue LayerSlider is having with Youtube that I can’t figure out how to make work.

That’s a good idea, I will use this same code on a test page and see if the issue is with LayerSlider or the code.

    Thanks

Definitely a LayerSlider issue. I pasted the code on a standard page in a code element and it has no issues.

Do we know of any work around for this? Or how to get LayerSlider to work nicely with Youtube videos?

    Hey!

Please ref to this post as mentioned by Ismael https://kriesi.at/support/topic/play-a-video-from-youtube-in-layer-slider/#post-449810

You can generate the video shortcode on a temporary post or page by using the shortcode wand. Copy it to one of the layer in the slider. You may not be able to see the video in the slider preview but it should work in the front end.

    Hope this helps!

    Cheers!

    Thanks for the reply Vinay,
I ran some tests and found the issue is with LayerSlider. I went ahead and purchased Slider Revolution and it works great. It also fixed a bunch of alignment issues I was having with LayerSlider which was an added bonus.

Enfold should look at dumping LayerSlider which has been more problems over the years than it is worth and including Slider Revolution which is much more versatile and stable.

    Thanks
