Hi Support team.
Just after installing WordPress and activating the Enfold theme, the following error is showing up.Warning: Creating default object from empty value in /home/httpd/vhosts/www.xxx.xx/subdomain.xxx.xx/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/slideshow_layerslider/slideshow_layerslider.php on line 28
What can / shall I do? The theme, is 2-3 days old, I’ve just purchased it from Envato Market.
Wordpress 5.3 / PHP 7.4.0
It’s installed on an temporary subdomain until the launch. Many Thanks

Please send us a temporary WordPress admin login and login URL so that we can have a closer look. You can post the details in the Private Content section of your reply.
Also, do you have debugging enable in your WordPress installation? https://wordpress.org/support/article/debugging-in-wordpress/
Best regards,

So what do you think, is there a solution for my problem or is the theme unusable for me?
What are the further steps and when can you provide me some kind of support.
Thanks a lot.
DarkoDecember 15, 2019 at 12:15 am #1165960Hi,
Sorry for the late reply, and thanks for the login, I have installed Enfold on many sites but have not seen this before, perhaps your webhost doesn’t have the PHP ZipArchive Extension enabled so the LayerSlider didn’t extract correctly? Please include ftp access in the Private Content area because I’d like to try activating the theme and see what is going on, and fix it. While I’m doing this do you want one of the demos installed? I could do this also to ensure you don’t have further snags.Best regards,

December 17, 2019 at 4:24 pm #1166889Ehm – hello?
Any ideas?
I have to buy another theme, but to be honest, this would be disappointing.Best regards
DarkoDecember 18, 2019 at 11:31 am #1167219Hi,
Sorry for the late reply, I don’t believe that the ftp access is pointing to the correct install, the theme directory doesn’t include enfold and the plugin directory doesn’t match the plugins showing in the WordPress panel, please check.
So I was not able to try uploading the theme again, but I did find this error one other time in the past due to a plugin called SIMPLE HISTORY, which tracks user changes in the admin, so I tried disabling your plugins without success, but I notice that in the ftp access, which I assumed was wrong, there is a plugin “user role editor” which I believe is normally hidden to most users and has a similar function. Does this install have such a plugin?
I also note that you are using PHP v7.4.0, please try downgrading to v7.3, just to rule this out.
So please check the ftp access as I would still like to upload the theme again.
Also, you asked for the “Default demo” but this demo doesn’t include all of the demo images and content, I recommend the “2017 demo” because it does, and it highlights all of the elements better, please see or demos hereBest regards,
MikeDecember 18, 2019 at 1:32 pm #1167258Hi Mike.
Excuse me for the FTP mistake, I’ve chosen the wrong (active) website folder, wich has to be replaced.
Now, I’ve corrected and it should be pointing to the right folder.
–
I’ve downgraded the PHP version to 7.3.12, as you recommended.
–
If you think, the better demo is the 2017, just go on, I’ll customize the website anyways. I just need the content to figure out, what might be the best solution to cover the requirements of the actual homepage. Many thanks

December 18, 2019 at 1:37 pm #1167263Hi Mike.
It was the PHP version. Some plugins, included in this theme, are not PHP 7.4 compatible.
PHP 7.312 is working.
Problem solved.
December 18, 2019 at 1:58 pm #1167273Hi,
Thank you for the feedback, glad to hear that it is sorted out now. I will report that the LayerSlider doesn’t seem to be v7.4 compatible to the dev team so they can get in touch with the layerslider team.
Please let us know if you are able to import the demo alright or if you need help with it, otherwise, let us know if we should close this thread.Best regards,
MikeDecember 18, 2019 at 2:16 pm #1167278Hi,
I just found a similar issue with theslideshow_layerslider.php
file that was just changed for our next version, if you don’t mind testing with PHP v7.4 it may solve this issue.
Please try the file in the Private Content area by replacing:
/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/slideshow_layerslider/slideshow_layerslider.php
Please keep a copy of your current file as a fallback.Best regards,
MikeDecember 18, 2019 at 2:51 pm #1167288Hi,
Opps, I just noticed that you had said to go ahead with the 2017 demo install, but I will wait for your feedback on the file test as I don’t want to do anything while you may be testing.Best regards,
MikeDecember 22, 2020 at 5:49 pm #1269371I just activated Enfold and I have the same error. PHP version: 7.4.7. Am I supposed to use another theme?

December 23, 2020 at 2:15 pm #1269536Hi,
@sitibus thank you for posting your admin login, although since this is not your thread the original author can also see the login. I recommend removing this user and starting a new thread. I do not see the Enfold theme installed on your site, and deactivated.
Please install, but don’t activate.
If activating the theme crashes the site we will also need ftp access to correct after the crash, please include it in the Private Content area of your new thread.
I also see that this is a built site with another theme and many plugins, is this a live site, do you have a test site?
I’m not sure how your current plugins will behave with Enfold, I recommend deactivating all plugins before activating the theme, did you try this?Best regards,
Mike -
