Dear support,
I’ve been searching about the similar problem that I got in the forum before I post this, but didn’t find (yet) anything that can solve my problem.
I don’t know that exactly happened, I replaced the theme using ftp, and today when I login to the wordpress admin panel, my layer slider seems weird, I didn’t see the slider I created, but the slider is still working on the frontpage. I tried to add new slider but when I hit the add slider button, it didn’t bring me to the slider composer page, it brought me back to the layer slider frontpage again. And now I’m using simpel image as a slider using fullwidth easy slider module.
Is there anything to solve the problem? Thanks.

VictoriaNovember 8, 2019 at 5:56 pm #1155075Hi Victoria,
Thank you for the respons, I’ve read all the links you gave me, but I still don’t get it how to solve my problem. I didn’t buy the layer slider, just use as it is (bundled with enfold).
The links of codecanyon that you gave me are 6 years and 4 years ago, the link of kriesi support is from year 2016, is it still relevant?
I turned on the console of chrome also, and saw some js files error, same errors like the screen captured that you sent me. Can you tell me how to solve this?
I’ve just replaced once more config-layerslider folder through ftp, but still no luck :)

RudyNovember 13, 2019 at 3:00 am #1156247Hi,
Thank you for the update.
What is the version of the theme prior to the update? The current slider might have been created from a version of the layer slider that is no longer compatible with the current one. You may need to re-create the slider from scratch.

IsmaelNovember 13, 2019 at 4:55 pm #1156441Hi Ismael, thank you for the response.
The problem is I can’t use the Layer Slider anymore, I can’t create new slider, It brought me back after I clicked the add slider button. Please try it using the temporary access I created for kriesi support. There is javascript errors (codemirror) if you see through console windows when access the Layer Slider.
I’m using Enfold theme 4.6.3 right now.

November 15, 2019 at 2:16 pm #1157189Hi,
Thank you for the info.
We tried to disable the cache plugin and turn off some of the slider’s advanced settings, but the error remains. Have you tried to deactivate the plugins to rule out any incompatibility issues? We can’t reproduce the issue on our own installations, so it’s probably an issue with a plugin, a server configuration or a custom script.
We also found a thread discussing a similar issue, but no solution has been posted.

IsmaelNovember 16, 2019 at 3:29 pm #1157478Hi Ismael,
Thank you for your reply.
I’ve tried your suggestion, I’ve deactivated the plugins one by one, but the Layer Slider (ver 6.9.2) is still not working. I’ve reuploaded the whole config-layerslider folder from enfold 4.6.2. There is still codemirror errors on the console windows but the Layer Slider (ver 6.8.1) is working now.
I’ve tried to modify the slider that I created before, saved it, and seems it’s fine. I really don’t know what was happened. (You can log into our admin panel to see the Layer Slider I’m talking about).
I’m not sure about the server configuration and the custom script that I use in function.php inside the child theme, it might be the cause since I’m the only one who has the problem with Layer Slider on Enfold 4.6.3.
Hope the new Enfold release can solve my problem.

RudyNovember 16, 2019 at 10:09 pm #1157549Hi,
When you updated the theme via ftp do you try to overwrite the theme files?
This will cause errors, the easiest and safest way to update via ftp is to download the newest version from Theme Forest and rename your current theme folder to “enfold-old” via ftp then upload the new “enfold” folder and check that your site is working correctly.
Once you are happy you can delete the “enfold-old” folder via ftp, (not the WP theme page)
Should for some reason you wish to roll-back to the old version, it’s easy to do, simply rename the new “enfold” folder to “enfold-new” via ftp and then rename “enfold-old” to “enfold” then refresh your page.
Please don’t try to overwrite the theme folder, as this will leave old files behind and cause errors.Best regards,
MikeNovember 18, 2019 at 5:23 am #1157743Hi Mike,
Yes, that’s what I do, I overwrite all theme files.
Next, I will try your suggestion when update the theme. Hope the layer slider problem will be gone, thank you.

Overwriting theme files typically causes errors like this, please let us know if this solves.Best regards,
MikeNovember 18, 2019 at 4:45 pm #1157913Hi Mike,
Just want to tell you,
I uploaded the latest enfold theme I downloaded from envato account like your suggestion, but the problem of the layer slider still occurs. I uploaded into new folder (enfold-new), than I renamed my current enfold theme to enfold-old and renamed enfold-new folder to enfold.
Now I’m back with enfold-old as my current enfold theme :) with layer slider ver 6.8.1.

No, I didn’t see the page like yours. I don’t have a “No Preview” box like this:

RudyNovember 20, 2019 at 12:00 pm #1158438Hi,
Thank you for the feedback, I couldn’t find a page that is using the layerslider, the slider on the homepage is a “full-width easy slider”.
But I also see that I can not create a new slider.
As this is a live site, I believe it would be a good idea to create a stagging site to investigate this issue with.
Please check your webhost to see if you have the one click staging site option, this is a option in most cPanels to create a staging clone of your site so we can test on it and you site will stay up and running. You can always ask your webhost to help you with setting this up if you want. Here are some screenshots of what it would look like:
Best regards,
Mike -
