We have built a new website using Enfold theme (/themes/enfold-construction demo download). We have adapted some of the Portfolio items. The ones that were already in the theme, but edited to suit our site ttw.org.uk, still show latin text under the title when searched for within the website search. We have studied the code but there is no trace of it on the page only in the search results. How do we get rid of this latin? (I’m sure the answer is obvious but we just can’t see it)

    Hey envatobunny,

    Thank you for the inquiry.

It may take some time for the search results to be updated. If you wish to expedite the process, try building and submitting a sitemap to Google. Please refer to the documentation below for more info.

    Hi Ismael,

I’ve done that and waited 48 hours of the same problem.

I’m wondering if we have crossed wires here. I’m referring to the search results generated by Enfold.

To re-create the problem please enter the word ‘fox’ into the search box here ttw.org.uk and look at the top result ‘Fox’s field’ and you will see ‘Aenean massa. Cum sociis natoque’ in the sub text.

I’m going to ask what may seem like another silly question… Is the theme search managed by Google? Or did you think my original question referred to Google search?

Always learning… Thank you for your help in advance

    Sincerely

    Phillip

    Hi,

Is the theme search managed by Google? Or did you think my original question referred to Google search?

Sorry for the confusion. We initially thought you were referring to the Google SERPs. After checking the default AJAX search, it seems to be returning updated posts aside from an item called “foxs-field”, which displays lipsum text. To address this, please follow these steps: edit the post/page, save the content as a template (or ensure you have a site backup), switch to the default editor, delete any remaining content in the text editor, then switch back to the Advanced Layout Builder (ALB). If the content is gone after switching back to ALB, use the template that you’ve just created to restore the content. This might help resolve the issue.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hi Ismael,

Thank you for your continued support on this. I actually tried the above before. I ran a search for the Latin words in the text editor but they do not appear in the code anywhere. It doesn’t make sense to me. Anything on that page should appear in the code shouldn’t it?

Would you like access to the website so that you can have a look?

    Sincerely

    Philip

    Hi,
Thank you for your patience, I believe you are referring to this text:
    Enfold_Support_4513.jpeg
this is in the manually excerpt for the portfolio post, if you are using the Block Editor look in the sidebar:
    Enfold_Support_4515.jpeg
if you don’t see the option you may need to enable it in the three dots and then preferences:
    Enfold_Support_4517.jpeg
    the panels and excerpt:
    Enfold_Support_4519.jpeg
if you are using the Classic Editor look below the post:
    Enfold_Support_4521.jpeg
if you don’t see the option you may need to enable it in the screen options at the top of the page:
    Enfold_Support_4523.jpeg

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Hi Mike,

Thank you for taking the time to send that detailed response especially with all the helpful screenshots of the various editors.

I have found it now and see that it applies to posts, portfolio items and even in our case calendar items (although the link below just refers to posts)

    wordpress.org/documentation/article/page-post-settings-sidebar/#excerpt

What baffled me is that I could not find it by running a search in the code generated in a browser

Anyway with your help I have located it now and I’m hugely grateful

    Thank you

    Philip
