Greetings. I was posting here- https://kriesi.at/support/topic/slider-not-working-after-update-to-enfold-4-3-1/#post-958116

My Layerslider broke after updating the theme to the latest version. The full width background image on the slider isn’t showing up on the test page: I checked the settings and nothing has changed, so I’m stumped.

Also, I noticed a relatively severe loading speed issue which has arisen as well. I’m uncertain if the two are related, but it seems likely as the theme changed quite a bit. I disabled caching for now.

    Hey jkdavis,
Thank you for the login, I recognize a “wss://public-api” 403 error in the console that is linked to Jetpack, and another the looks to be a lazy load plugin, so I would like to test disabling your plugins temporary. Would that be ok?
I ask because some plugins lose their settings once disabled.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Certainly

    Hi,
I tried disabling your plugins, which solved the slider issues, and then I enabled them expecting JetPack to brake the sliders again, but it didn’t. I believe this is because when JetPack is disabled you need to set it up again, which will most likely brake your sliders.
I remember seeing this error before on the JetPack support forum, but I can’t find that thread now.
At the time it was under investigation, but since I’ve only seen it twice now and not widespread, there is a chance that it is a conflict with another plugin.
You could choose to not use JetPack, or try disabling all other plugins, and test one at a time with JetPack to find the error.
Or perhaps it was a one time blop, in which disabling and resetting solved?

I guess the important thing is that your sliders are working again.

    Best regards,
    Mike

It appears as if it was just a hiccup. Odd. Thank you for the help! What do you think about the loading issue? It seems to take much longer (upwards of maybe 6-12 seconds?) to load pages.

Its actually not working at all right now

Now its working again. This has never happened before the update… should I downgrade the theme perhaps?

    Hi,
Perhaps you should disable JetPack. As for your slow load times it’s mostly to the images in your slider and a slow webhost, I ran this test and as you can see it took your webhost 4 seconds to start serving your site (first byte)
There are a lot of things you can do to improve your speed, but you have no control over “first byte”, it your server.
Perhaps if you talk to them they will move you to different server.

    Best regards,
    Mike
