In the cookie modal Google Analytics options are shown two times: On time under the tab “Google Analytics Cookies” and one time under the “Other Cookies” tab as separate cookies. Both versions are also linked: if “Google Analytics Cookies” is deselected, so are the separate cookies and vica versa.
Furthermore, I notice that when I deselect “Google Analytics Cookies” in the cookie modal, not all Google Analytics cookies are deleted. Two occurrences of both _ga and _gid remain. And when all cookies are deselected in the modal, even two occurrences of al three GA cookies remain (_ga, _gat, _gid). In all cases the second occurrence has the value false.
I have two questions:
1. Is it possible to have the GA cookies removed from the “Other Cookies” tab in the cookie modal?
2. Is the GA functionality really stopped when deselected since (some of) the cookies remain?Note:
I checked this settings on a staging site. See private section for the credentials. In the footer of this site under Overige informatie -> Cookie instellingen, you find a link to the cookie modalBest regards, Jan

Thank you for the inquiry.
1.) You should be able to edit the privacy toggles or button and the tab content of the modal popup window by enabling the Modal Window Custom Content in the Privacy & Cookies > Cookie Handling option.
2.) Yes, the privacy options should prevent storing of the GA tracker and other external cookies in the local storage. You may need to delete the cookies manually if they were added prior to enabling the privacy options in the theme.
