Hello,
I’m new to the forum and seem to have encountered a slight issue on one of my website pages with the easy slider video element.
I’ve added 4 videos to the slider and placed it in a colour section on one of my website pages.
I’ve noticed that sometimes the video slides do not load properly on the desktop PC/iMac and I usually have to reload the page a few times. But even more troublesome I’ve noticed it doesn’t load properly or play any video at all on smaller devices such as iPad/tablet/mobile phones. It’s as if the full size of the slider doesn’t load and nothing responds when you touch the screen to try to play the videos.
I just wondered i I’m missing something or if there is an issue? Can you provide any help or advice? Many thanks.
(Also, Is it possible that the latest software version you have on your device or computer could be a factor? my devices are all up-to-date, but other people who visit may have older software? Or does this not matter?)

February 12, 2018 at 1:02 pm #911077Hi,
Thank you using Enfold.
What is the format of the youtube url? Please post the login details in the private field so that we can check the slider.
Best regards,

Videos are displaying in the slider on desktop. Please note that videos in the slider are disabled on mobile devices by default. This is why the fall back image option is there.

IsmaelFebruary 14, 2018 at 11:05 pm #912539Ahh! Is that what it is. Okay. Thank you.
Can I alter this somewhere to allow the videos to play on the smaller devices then?
I noticed inside the element on the “Edit Form Element” box there is a bit that states:
“Video on most mobile devices can’t be controlled properly with JavaScript, which is mandatory here, therefore you are required to select a fallback image which can be displayed instead”So this is the reason for the fallback image… but below that is a fallback image link… if I paste the video link into this box as well should the video then play when clicked? I have copied each link into the fallback image link but still nothing has changed when I view on my iPhone.
Or if this can’t be altered does this mean I may need to find a plugin that will play the videos? I am aware of and have used “YouTube Embed Pro” before. But paying for a premium theme (Enfold) I’d rather not have to use external plugins to get the videos to play on small devices.
Or is there some short CSS code I can add that you can advise me of?
I should maybe say that I’m not a big tech or computer code wizard or anything, I just know the basics of back end stuff.
Also when I refreshed the screen on my PC this evening after adding the links to the fallback image link sections the videos didn’t load again. It was just a blank screen. Please see image links below. Thanks
February 14, 2018 at 11:39 pm #912545Hi again,
I just found this link: from other threads with similar issues… somehow I didn’t find it before contacting you. https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/hide-menu-itemselements-on-mobile/
I will try to follow the guidelines on this tomorrow as I don’t have time just now, but I may need further guidance.
I now understand that it’s compatibility issues with mobile devices so I will try the video element and the CSS code and hope it works okay….Just a quick question for now… as the easy slider contains 4 video links… does this mean I need to add 4 separate video elements? And have them listed in a row or column?
I’ll be back in touch soon.
Thanks.

Yes, each video would require it own separate video element to exist so it can work

BasilisFebruary 15, 2018 at 10:57 pm #913002Hi,
Thanks.
I just wanted to say to you guys that I followed the steps in your link: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/hide-menu-itemselements-on-mobile/ and everything has worked as it is explained. On my iMac the slider shows only and the videos are hidden and on the iPhone the videos are shown and play and the slider is hidden. So, I’m really delighted. I’m more amazed that I actually managed to get this to work. I was sure I’d need to call on you for more help.
But for now I’m sorted, thanks.
Only thing I noticed that is slightly odd but no big deal… is that on my iPad in the portrait position it shows the video elements but if you turn it to landscape it switches to show the slider, but it doesn’t render correctly due to the compatibility issues, so I guess that’s just due to the differences in size of portrait width vs landscape width on an iPad. But it’s all there in one way or another.
I’m most grateful for your time and responses. Very much appreciated.
Thanks again,

RikardMarch 27, 2018 at 10:03 am #933525Question!
I’ve also followed the steps but I can’t get the video to display on my desktop and hide from my iPad4 (resolution 2048 wide).
I assume I have to change the 990px into 2048px in the following code?@media only screen and (max-width: 990px) {
.only-desktop { display: none !important; }}What am I doing wrong ;-(
March 28, 2018 at 11:28 am #934136Hi,
This thread is rather old and the modification that was suggested is no longer needed. The theme contains a new featured called “Screen Options” which enable the users to toggle the elements’ visibility on different screen sizes or device. Please edit the element then look for the Screen Options. Adjust the element’s visibility settings as required.
Best regards,
