I have been doing a lot of research on this and can’t find anything expect with Jetpack, which I don’t want to install something that big for just the one feature.
I would like to have it so people can subscribe to the blog via email, so they receive an email every time a new post is made.
Here is the link to the jetpack feature, I am trying to do the same without using Jetpack:

I believe this plugin will do this for you, it’s listed as one of the features and I assume that you can disable the other features:Do you want to send notification email whenever new post published in your website? YES, This plugin will do for you.
Email posts to subscribers
Another option is to use Web Push Notifications which is not a email, but a notice in the users browser, the advantage to this is that the message never lands in the users spam folder.Best regards,
