Hello. I have been using enfold for almost 2 years without a child theme. Bearing in mind the age of my site should I be creating a child theme now? Would this reduce risk of code overwrites at a later point. At the moment my site has very little custom code I have some small php additions and comments out and mostly custom css on the enfold general page. Pls advise. Thx Tom

    Hey Tom,

It depends on where you have placed your code? If it’s in functions.php for example then that will be overwritten on an update. If you only have CSS in Quick CSS then that will be safe, but we do recommend that you keep proper backups of your site in case something should go wrong during updates.

So to answer your question; a child theme is always safer and is recommended, but it might not be necessary in your case.

    Best regards,
    Rikard
