    Howdy,
    Scanned through the posts and could not find a definitive answer to this …

    Running Enfold 4.5 — will not want to use Gutenberg, Avia is fine. Since WordPress 5 is a major update, it will not update automatically and will need to be done manually, correct?

    Is any preparation required to keep my sites happy BEFORE updating to WordPress 5.0?

    Hey jancecile,

    Like with all major updates, you should try to be as careful as possible. I would recommend updating on a staging version of the site first. Here are a few other pointer what you should think about before updating to WordPress 5.

    I will personally wait as long as possible until I update my personal sites to WordPress 5, once it’s officially released.

    It should not be an automatic update, but please check with your hosting provider just to make sure.
