Every time I install a plugin I feel like I am inviting disaster so I keep them to a bare minimum. And yes, they can f*** up your database. Don’t kid yourself.

WP is already Google-friendly. So, is an SEO plugin necessary, or for that matter even desirable? Opinions please.

    Hi Frank!

I personally use and like this one for its simplicity:

But if you need something more complex it would be the Yoast plugin for sure:

    Hey Josue,

I agree on point one. But it wasn’t my intention to get into an SEO pissing match.

More to my point… Do you think SEO is even necessary these days? I mean a typical WP post shows up on Google and Bing within 36 hours (and usually sooner). Isn’t that fast enough?

How much attention span disorder are we talking about here? What are we sacrificing in our “need for speed.” No names being mentioned, but a certain SEO plugin seems to be causing a lot of problems for a lot of people.

    Thanks,
    Frank

    Hey Frank!

Yes, but if you need things like Google Authorship, FB Open Graph or changing a specific meta description/title you’d definitely need a plugin, that’s covered by FV Simpler SEO.

    Regards,
    Josue
