When I load a post on my iphone and turn the phone from portrait to landscape orientation to view a photo larger there is a problem.
The page changes location and Jumps to a new location on the post and displays a different image. I want it to stay in the same place.
How do I fix this, Any ideas?
Thanks in advance Y’all.

JosueAugust 18, 2014 at 11:31 pm #306029Hi!
I’m not having any issues loading the page but I’m only getting the normal slight change in location of the page when the orientation changes. I don’t know of a way to force it to stay in the same place unfortunately.

DevinAugust 19, 2014 at 10:22 am #306164Hi Devin,
Any ideas why Josue and Yigit cant view my website? I believe there in Lithuania and Peru? I assume you can see it ok (albeit slow)?
Rotation issue:The situation may be exaggerated with posts with more images in, when I look at this page with loads of images (after I wait an hour for it to load) http://shutterliving.com/venice-italy/
When I view via the iPhone the botom image of the set (with chrome and safari) then I turn the phone to landscape the page moves UP a total of 30 images.
I find this problem with all my image sets (posts)
August 19, 2014 at 11:54 am #306224could it have something to do with my .htaccess file?
August 20, 2014 at 1:42 am #306569I don’t think it would have anything to do with htaccess settings/data and instead purely browser based because of the list of images (maybe).
As for why the others couldn’t see the page I have no clue. They didn’t either and asked for everyone else to check the site on our internal discussion board.
August 22, 2014 at 1:28 pm #307823Hi, sorry to be a pain but im still having the rotation issue,
I have tried it from 3 different iphones and they all jump when the phone is rotated.
Can i ask if any of the other Moderators can reproduce this issue, or is it just me?
August 23, 2014 at 1:33 am #308127I don’t doubt that its happening, I don’t think its anything we have the ability to modify however. Phone rotation and how the phone+browser recalculate the viewers view isn’t handled by the website as far as I know.
August 25, 2014 at 5:16 pm #308890Hi Devin,
The strangest thing has happened, I’m not sure why it has happened (something to do with one of the fixes the moderators have given me) but now when you rotate the phone the image stays in the correct place! Yay!
However now the image does not resize? it stays very small and does not fill the screen? Is this something that you can see on your phone? Can i force it to resize to the full screen of the phone?
(Aslo the other thing strange I noticed is the : ‘you may also like’ recommendations have changes shape from rectangular to square, I dont mind it like this but it just seems strange to have changed all of a sudden)
Best Jamie
August 26, 2014 at 4:57 am #309107Hi!
Thank you for the update.
I tested this on an iPod which basically has the same screen resolution as iPhone and it is resizing properly when I rotate the device from portrait to landscape. The image fills the screen and it doesn’t jump to a different location on the page. Regarding the post navigation, please use this:
.avia-post-nav .entry-image img { border-radius: 80px; display: block; height: 80px; width: 80px; }
Go to Settings > Media then change the size of the Thumbnail size to 160x160px. Regenerate the thumbnails using this plugin: http://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/

IsmaelAugust 28, 2014 at 11:35 am #310353Thanks Ismael,
Regenerate problem the code you gave fixed the look of the navigation tabs however I’m finding it imposable to run the regenerate plugin you recommended. I have 3800 images in my library and when i run the plugin it takes about 2mins per image (is this normal) So i can get to about 5-10% after it running all day then it crashes or times out. any recommendations on how to fix this issue?
iPhone Rotation issues On this page : http://shutterliving.com/homepage/recent-work/
When i view it on an iphone and turn the phone in to landscape the images do not resize
https://www.dropbox.com/s/rsmo0ktpfdflmoh/photo%20%281%29.PNG?dl=0
this is the same when you view a post: https://www.dropbox.com/s/l5o1kbtezkf01aa/photo%20%282%29.PNG?dl=0
The good thing is that when i rotate the phone the correct image IS shown in the CORRECT place however now it is not re-sizing.
Is this something that you have seen before or can reproduce?
September 1, 2014 at 3:10 pm #311856Hey!
Re: plugin, not any other way that I know of unfortunately. You could try another plugin and do the images manually that you specifically want to alter: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/simple-image-sizes/
iPhone rotation: The only reason it wouldn’t be resizing is if the site width isn’t changing. So if there has been any other changes with minification, caching, new css or a new plugin you could try clearing/undoing it to find the source of the change.
Best regards,
