Hi.
I was unable to upload via wordpress so had to ftp the files. This seemed to work but the backend doesn’t work at all. its completely blank screen so I have to delete the theme via ftp to get access to the admin again.Please help

Theme is not installed correctly and that is causing the issue. We would need FTP logins to make sure that theme is installed correctly.
It is totally understandable though. In that case please go to /wp-content/themes/ and delete “enfold” folder and re-install Enfold 4.4.1 via FTP – https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold

Please try to increase the allocated memory to 256M: http://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Increasing_memory_allocated_to_PHP
