Hi. Could you point me towards threads that deal with how to insert banner/sidebar advertising using Enfold?
Are there shortcuts to getting this done? I hope you can clarify my options on inserting ads.Looking forward to reply. Best regards.
October 21, 2015 at 1:28 pm #522283Hey BootsD!
Where exactly would you like to display ads?
You can enable debugging mode to see shortcodes you have created in pages using Advanced Layout Builder – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/enable-advanced-layout-builder-debug/
Or, You can switch to Default Editor and click on Magic Wand to see full list of shortcodes http://i.imgur.com/n4KXkdm.jpg
then you can create any of them and copy/paste shortcode into any other content element or into text widget.Regards,

Also, the link you provided seems to discuss child themes – would this be applicable for my site as well as I dont think we’re using a child theme?
Lastly, I’m a novice in wordpress (and your instructions sound slightly intimidating), would inserting ads be manageable on my own without a web developer?October 23, 2015 at 2:45 pm #523859Just a clarification – after reading up on the differences between a child and parent theme, it does seem like my theme just like others using Enfold is considered as a child theme. (Do correct me if I’m wrong)
October 25, 2015 at 7:07 am #524332Hey!
If you want to add google ad sense or any other ads that provide custom scripts, use the text widget in the Appearance > Widgets panel. Make sure that you set the right widget area in your pages’ Layout > Sidebar Settings. If you don’t want to use a text widget, use the theme’s Advertising Area widget.
For clarification regarding child themes, refer to these links:

IsmaelOctober 26, 2015 at 1:08 pm #524829Hi Ismael,
Thanks for the reply. I’m hoping to add ads contracted by us directly and not by google adsense. Would that then require the Advertising area widget?
October 26, 2015 at 1:18 pm #524837November 6, 2015 at 3:31 pm #531465Hi. I’ve been trying to add an image/advertising widget to the blog sidebar for a while and nothing seems to be working. Tried a plugin or through a text widget with image link in the content box. Pls advise what i might be doing wrong. Thanks.
November 7, 2015 at 1:05 am #531697Follow up to inquiry: I have figured out a way to insert the image within the blog page sidebar (through the text widget) but still have not been able to insert any image within the sidebar for the blog page section (link in private content). Pls advise how I might get it done. Thank you.
November 9, 2015 at 4:44 am #532306Hi!
Go to the Appearance > Widgets panel then add the widget of your choice inside the Sidebar Blog widget area. If you want the widget to appear on every page, place it inside the Displayed Everywhere widget area. Or edit the blog page, select the widget area in the Layout > Sidebar Settings.
Best regards,
