I toggle the toolbar so that both rows are showing.

I have a couple of very long posts that I have to scroll fairly far down to get to parts that I need to tweak. When I have to scroll fairly far down the editor to get to the part that I want to add an element to (or change Header Tag to, etc.), then I have to hope the cursor stays put, or the text stays highlighted correctly, then scroll back up to the top, select the element (or Header Tag, etc.), then scroll back down to see if the change/element is where it should be. **Since I use a track-pad to scroll, the pad sometimes registers a swipe as a touch and moves the cursor, which causes elements to be put in the wrong place**

Is there a way to make that toolbar sticky like the Add Media is? I would swear that this did not used to be an issue . . . and I even think that intermittently it does stick as it seems it should.

Alternatively, I’d like to suggest that y’all at least give users the option to make Post Editors work the same as Page Editors with all the functionality (ie so we don’t lose the Featured Image, etc.). I know that’s a longshot as coding theme changes is likely far more involved that I can imagine.

    Hey gatehealing,
Thank you for your patience, it sounds like you are using the Classic Editor and the toolbar that you are refuring to is the TinyMCE toolbar, is this correct?

On my demo site I created a very long post and this toolbar stayed at the top until the bottom on the editing window was in view.
Are you using the theme Classic Editor option at Enfold Theme Options ▸ Select Your Editor, or are you using a Classic Editor plugin?
Have you tried disabling your other plugins to see if this behavioral changes?
If this doesn’t help please include an admin login in the Private Content area so we can be of more assistance.

Yes, that’s the toolbar(s) I’m referring to. I confirmed last night that it is intermittent. . . sadly, more often than not it scrolls off the screen.

I am using the Classic Editor (no plugin needed) option.

I haven’t disabled plugins yet just in case there was a cleaner way of trying to diagnose (like a known gremlin if I don’t have a certain setting dialed in correctly).

I’ll attach a screencast video if I am able to attach short video clips here.

And actually, on web Pages (vs posts) the same thing happens with the Adv Layout Builder. I can a video or screenshot of that. If I can’t figure out how to post those in the private box, I’ll put a link to my Google Drive. It’s the same frustration, but since pages aren’t as long, and since I can see the element blocks (vs code) it is easier to manage . . . but they may be related. I will try the plugin deactivation test in a bit when I get some needed updates done.

Found where it is happening. It could be in other elements that have editors in them, but I’m using Promo Box currently. Attaching a link to how the pop-up editor behaves when the content is longer than the box . . . the toolbar goes off the screen. Link in private content

    Hi,
Thanks for the feedback, I see that you are talking about the toolbar in the ALB elements, unfortunately there is not an easy solution for this because these element are inside of tabs in the element. If you would like to request this feature the Dev Team has opened a new Github Feature Request for users to place requests and follow them as the Dev Team reviews them.

Perfect. Thanks! Fortunately, those promo boxes aren’t too long usually.
What about the Pages ALB situation where that happens? I.e. the Layout/Element/Media toolbar at the top goes off the page. Should I start a different thread for that?

Ok, I have captured the video of the toolbar scrolling off the screen for Posts in Visual view. Link is in private content box.

    Hi,
Thank for the video, this is the situation that I was refuring to in my post above, on my demo site I created a very long post and this toolbar stayed at the top until the bottom on the editing window was in view.
This toolbar is in the WordPress core, it is the TinyMCE toolbar the theme doesn’t specifically manage it especially in the Classic Editor post layout, the theme does add a button to it, but many plugins do this.
Since in my demo site it is sticking to the top I would recommend trying to disable your plugins to see which one is effecting this behavior, I don’t know any other way to test for a conflict like this.
I’m reluctant to try to override this behavior with css and javascript because it is such a widely used toolbar in the admin panel I think it would probably case more conflicts, at least with my skill level.

    Best regards,
    Mike
