What is the current recommended guidance from Kriesi regarding this topic?
I get a reasonably good score from PageSpeed but YSlow and Pingdom mark the theme down heavily for such as:
Minify JavaScript
Minify CSS
Defer parsing of JavaScriptOther WP themes I’ve used in the past have recommended not touching JS or CSS as it messes them up – what’s the Enfold position?
The site uses WP Super Cache – have you got recommended settings for this? (I used to use W3 Total Cache but it’s too complex and messed the site up).
Are there plugins that can help? (And won’t mess up the site…)
Any advice welcome…
March 1, 2017 at 5:53 pm #753830Hello. I get great scores on my Enfold sites using WP Super Cache (default settings) and Autoptimize.

March 1, 2017 at 6:01 pm #753834I’ve had some success with those plugins, although there are still speed issues with my site. I did try Autoptimize and it unformatted all of my headline elements. Have you experienced this and is there an easy fix within plugin or Enfold settings?
March 1, 2017 at 6:07 pm #753839I’ve had a few hiccups with Autoptimize in the past, but the developer fixed the issues right away. Knock on wood…haven’t had issues in quite some time.
I would clear and disable any caching. Then I would try tinkering with the plugin settings, testing each step along the way.

RikardMarch 3, 2017 at 1:23 pm #755028@Rikard – yes, interesting feedback from user @accurIT but what is the official Kriesi recommendation/position?
March 5, 2017 at 6:16 am #755834Hi,
We don’t really have any official recommendations, as the settings often depend on server environments, so I think you will have to experiment to find the best settings for your site.

RikardOctober 6, 2017 at 6:30 pm #861118Hi,
I also have these performance problems with my clients Enfold website and I’m absolutely dissatisfied with your answer.
Because that means: Angencies without programmer on board and the requirement to create fast websites, can’t use Enfold.
Please give me helpful advice to solve the performance problems.
Best regards
PeterOctober 6, 2017 at 6:37 pm #861121I’ve built numerous Enfold websites on entry-level, shared hosting plans. If you know what you are doing or know who to ask for help (e.g. FaceBook Groups), your Enfold sites can be very fast.
You have to look at way more factors than just your theme. Are there faster, more lightweight themes? Absolutely. However, those are most likely going to require you to install many more plugins in order to do what Enfold does, UNLESS you are a developer. Enfold is most likely the least of your worries when it comes to optimization.
Here are some posts I’ve written, regarding WordPress optimization. All my sites are running Enfold.

Many users are alone with their speed problems – and that’s a bad perspective for Enfold …

PeterOctober 6, 2017 at 10:27 pm #861199@pete4u – Ha, ha. I understand how it may sound like that, but it is definitely not the case. Don’t insult people that have offered to help you.
October 8, 2017 at 6:54 am #861491Hi pete4u,
Load speeds depends on everything on your site basically, so to only blame the theme is a bit naive. We can help you out but like I said earlier in the thread, speeding up a site is something you have to experiment with a bit to find your optimal settings. If you need help with this then I would recommend that you contact @accurIT privately so that he can help you out.
My personal recommendation would be to contact a service like SteadyWP.

RikardOctober 8, 2017 at 3:12 pm #861571@rikard – Hijacking the thread a bit, but my company (wpturnedup.com) is a resource just like SteadyWP. One of the big differences being on the design side and how we only currently design with Enfold. Something to keep in mind.
@pete4u – The offer still stands if you want me to do a quick audit for you.October 9, 2017 at 10:17 am #861809Hi,
No problem, it kind of turned into a general thread so all info is welcome. Not sure if this was linked to but it’s a good thread for the topic as well: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/seo-google-page-insights-blocking-rendering-ressources-above-the-fold/

RikardOctober 26, 2017 at 9:11 pm #869318My friend recommend me a new plugin on the market WOT Cache
I can’t believe the results I am getting with it https://gtmetrix.com/reports/www.orgadmegido.co.il/9HTiW9fr

AmazingOctober 26, 2017 at 9:59 pm #869334Hey roiben. Not bad, but you want to look at the load time and NOT the scores. Also, you need to test from the closest server using GTMetrix. To do that, create a FREE account with them and test from either the UK or India.
I’d look at implementing Cloudflare as well, especially if you’re trying to reach an International audience.
These are the plugins you want to implement:
Autoptimize
WP DisableFinally, implement a FREE SSL Cert from Let’s Encrypt.
October 26, 2017 at 10:15 pm #869337Hi accurIT,
I’ve tried every cache/optimization plugin for WP, and the best results I get with this one.

Here’s an article I wrote for CloudFlare, if you want to give it a go.
