I wanted to Export the theme settings file with the intention of having a backup and with an oversight click on Import Settings From Your Parent Theme, losing not only the styles but also the possibility of having my backup … what can I do to recover without having to resort to full backup?
Thank you!
September 24, 2020 at 5:46 pm #1248241Fortunately, before committing this oversight, I made a copy of the “Wp-content” folder, I estimate and hope that within that folder there is the information to be able to recover the lost Styles without having to reformat everything … it may be ?
Gracias!September 25, 2020 at 5:03 am #1248300Hi,
I’m not sure I understand the problem you are having, did you export the parent theme setting from the parent, then import them when the child was active, and that didn’t work? If so then did you try to toggle a theme setting and save in order to regenerate the theme styles? Did you activate the option to delete old CSS and JS files under Enfold->Performance? Did you clear your local browser cache or check in an incognito/private browser window? If none of that worked then please include admin WordPress login details in private so that we can have a closer look.
Best regards,
RikardSeptember 25, 2020 at 4:11 pm #1248471Thanks for the answer and your time. I try to describe in steps what I did:
1_With the “Child” Active, update the version of the “Parent Theme” – because it was outdated and did not show me the Enfold menu options-
2_With the new version of Parent installed and now with the correct visualization of the Enfold menu, I went to the Import and Export options to Export the Visualization configuration to a file (In this point the failure occurred and instead of Export, press Import from Parent and lost the configured options)
Now the site is totally without the configured styles. How could I recover the old configuration (I never managed to export) without having to replace the whole site from some backup?
I hope to make myself understood with the translation, I copy the Spanish version:

September 29, 2020 at 1:48 am #1249196I think the solution is to restore the old version again and completely replace the “WP-Content” folder from the previous backup. I hope it is the solution to have a correct export of the settings.
Thanks again.

Creo que la solución es volver a restaurar la vieja versión y reemplazar completamente la carpeta “WP-Content” desde el backup previo. Espero sea la solucion para lograr tener una exportacion correcta de los seteos.
Gracias nuevamente.
September 29, 2020 at 5:12 am #1249225Hi,
Thank you for the update.
The theme options are saved in the database, so without a site backup with the database included or a restore point with the old theme options, we would not be able to revert the site back to its actual layout. Did you create a backup or a restore point?
Unfortunately, replacing the wp-content folder will not bring the theme options back.

IsmaelSeptember 29, 2020 at 5:21 am #1249228I have database backup and wpcontent. but when I installed it in another location it didn’t have the theme options either .. that’s why I’m trying to export them
October 2, 2020 at 7:24 am #1249984Hi,
Thank you for following up.
This might mean that the database backup does not contain the theme options which, unfortunately, might also mean that you would have to configure the theme options again from scratch. Did you create the backup after activating the child theme?

IsmaelOctober 2, 2020 at 9:16 am #1249996Luckily everything was recovered when restoring the copy of the DB. Then I was able to export the configuration and take it to the new location. Thank you!
