i have edited a new portfolio-item. But the image of the new one is different from the older items.

Try the following:
1. Install this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-image-sizes/
2. Go to Settings > Media
3. Change theentry_with_sidebarimage size (increase its width / height).
4. Regenerate the thumbnails by clicking the button at the bottom.Best regards,

thank you. It works. But what about the further portfolio-items. Do i have to resize each photo separate. Is it possible to change the size by using a child-theme?
