Images lined up in columns

Hi.
I have a 1/3 and a 2/3 layout element at the top of my page. I put an image into each one. I can’t for the life of me get them to line up. The 1/3 image size is 600 x 547 and the 2/3 is 1200 x 547. Which means they should look like they have the same height. 600 is also 1/3 while 1200 is 2/3 so I assumed I could get the images to line up. But I can’t. I also tried images sizes 450 x 410 and 900 x 410. And several other combinations. You can see the site here:

What I would like is to have it look like this:

With the boxes lined up and the space between the two columns the same as the space between the top row and the bottom for of four colored boxes.
