    For some reason WordPress refuses to upload an image at the same dimensions as the original.

    I have tried uploading an image 3000px wide x 900px tall (577k) to use in the full width slideshow.
    Whatever I do the image seems to end up 2560 x 768 at 1MB

    Looking on the server the correct size is there:

    Liege-Santiago-Calatrava.jpg. <<< this is the correctly sized image NOT used for some reason

    Liege-Santiago-Calatrava-1210×423.jpg

    Each time I add the image to the full width slider I select full size, but it keeps using the ‘SCALED’ file instead.

    I have tried adding just a simple image, but again it still only uses the ‘SCALED’ version.

    Hopefully you can help.

    Hey ColinWalton,

    Thank you for the inquiry.

    This is a new WordPress feature that handles big images. It limits the size of the uploaded images based on a specified threshold. You can use the “big_image_size_threshold” filter to change the threshold or disable the automatic scaling completely.

    add_filter( 'big_image_size_threshold', '__return_false' );
