– I already deleted and re-uploaded all images
– Deleted and recreated the entire slide
– I put the slide to responsive on the slide settings
– Added a plugin to force regenerate images in case that was the issue

Ok, I am not sure if someone has been working on my site while I was still trying to get the slider to be responsive, but somehow I got it to work.
The only major change I can remember making is that I reduced the canvas size of my images to just the image size (I did not discover the padding layer options yet) and I used the padding within the layer options. If that’s what did it, the change did not take effect right away, that’s why I’m not sure if it was me, or coincidence, as I provided my login details to moderators…
