Image hovering is still broken

I’ve reported this before: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/style-elements-broken-after-upgrading-to-4-5/

With 4.5.1 (?) the issues have gotten worse and the CSS workaround doesn’t work anymore.
Updated to 4.5.4 and the issues still persist.

It’s been nearly 6 months!
