I read what I could find on the forum, created a blank page and added the icon and got the following shortcode –
[av_font_icon icon='ue812' font='entypo-fontello' style='' caption='' link='' linktarget='' color='' size='40px' position='left'][/av_font_icon]
which I then inserted on the layer of my slider in the HTML area, which showed this as an area to enter a shortcode.
When I preview or save and preview all I see is the shortcode and not the icon.???

Thank you for using the theme!
The wp dashboard doesn’t load the css that is needed for the shortcodes so the preview won’t render them properly. It will work on the front end though.

IsmaelNot sure what you mean by the “front end”. I did save the slider, then the page, but when the slider runs all I see is the shortcode when the slide comes up.

Front end means the actual website preview. I tested the shortcode that you pasted on the layers slider and the checkmark shows properly. As expected, only the shortcode show on the layer slider preview. Make sure that you added the shortcode on the HTML / Video / Audio layer. Do you mind if we take a look at the actual website?

JosueThanks, Josue. Although the shortcodes worked perfectly I am now growing concerned about what’s happening. You may have seen the other post about issues with editing, the answer to which was that it had become “corrupted”. Have a look at the slide with the shortcodes here –

Not sure what you are looking at. I saw that you logged in so I assume you went to the slider. That first slide has several layers, first the image, then the body text, then the first line of text (the one that’s not showing), then the checkmark, then the second line of text (which is showing), then the checkmark.

I checked the “Consultants” slider, which has only two layers in the first slide, if that’s not the slider with the issue please let me know which one is (and which slide).

JosueYes, that’s the right slider but if you advance to, I think, slide five you will see a checkmark come in but no text to the left of it.
