When I try to import a font pack from the media library, I keep getting the error “Can’t add the font because the server didn’t respond. Please reload the page, then try again”
I double-checked to make sure the font file was good by uploading it and using it on another site. I also switched hosting companies thinking it would resolve the issue.
October 3, 2020 at 11:02 am #1250293Hi Andrea,
Please post us your login credentials (in the “private data” field), so we can take a look at your backend.
- Install and activate ” Temporary Login Without Password “.
- Go to ” Users > Temporary Logins ” on the left-side menu.
- Click ” Create New “.
- Add the email address for the account ( you can use (Email address hidden if logged out) ), as well as the ” Role ” making that the highest possible and the expiry about four days
( to be sure that we have enough time to debug ). - Click ” Submit “.
- You’ll now have a temporary account. Please provide us here in the private section the URL, so we can login and help you out.
When your issue is fixed, you can always remove the plugin!
If you prefer to not use the plugin, you can manually create an admin user and post the login credentials in the “private data” field.Best regards,

October 6, 2020 at 7:46 am #1250742Hi CurlyHost,
Thanks for giving us admin access.
I have checked this font in the media library: fontello-4193edda.zip and upon extracting it, it’s not in the correct format and structure.
To fix this, you need to do the following:
1. Extract or Unzip the zip file
2. Go to the folder generated then find the font folder then try to zip it and use that zip file to upload.
Hope it helps.Best regards,
NikkoOctober 6, 2020 at 6:28 pm #1250902I extracted the file, then selected the font folder and zipped that. I uploaded the zipped file as font.zip. I tried importing it and I get the exact same error. Were you able to get it to work?

October 7, 2020 at 3:42 am #1251007Hi CurlyHost,
No, it didn’t work on me as well.
Upon further investigation, I found out that PHP ZipArchive Extension is disabled.
Please enable it first and font.zip should work properly.
You should be able to enable it in cPanel (though it varies in each host), if you can’t find it then please ask your hosting provider for assistance.Best regards,
NikkoOctober 8, 2020 at 1:56 pm #1251424Okay – yes, especially with the latest version of PHP on projects the zip is unchecked by default. Thank you for your help.
