Hi, I need some help. When I’m creating a new Portfolio Page, URL is showing something like this,
but I want to remove ‘portfolio-item’ portion from URL. So URL should look like this,
https://modelhomemakeover.ca/basement-finishing-gallery/
but it will be still a portfolio page
to do this, I’ve been trying to keep this field ‘Portfolio Items Base’ as empty or blank (from Permalink settings) but while I’m trying to keep blank, its automatically using default value
is there any way to remove ‘portfolio-item’ portion from URL? Plz letme know, thanks

Thanks for contacting us!
It is not possible to remove the slug since it is a custom post type. However you can change it under Settings->Permalinks.
If you would like to look into customization options, please refer to this post – https://kellenmace.com/remove-custom-post-type-slug-from-permalinks/

YigitApril 1, 2020 at 1:38 pm #1199754Hi, I could understand your point. but on our site, we’ve created some portfolio pages previously and on those pages ‘portfolio-item’ portion not showing, such as these,
https://modelhomemakeover.ca/coffered-waffle-ceilings-pictures/
https://modelhomemakeover.ca/Millwork-Archways-Casings-Pictures/
https://modelhomemakeover.ca/model-home-thornhill-pictures/
although we believe we didn’t change any codes for that
but some portfolio pages that we’ve created previously and the new portfolio pages that we’re creating now are showing this portion ‘portfolio-item’ in URL. Such as these,
can u plz check and letus know how was that possible on those pages although we didn’t change any codes?
And is that still possible to remove that portion without any code edit from remaining pages where showing this portion?
Plz letme know your opinion, thanks

I’m not sure what happened to your site before, but if you would like to remove your slugs please see this documentation and use the lite version of this plugin.Best regards,
