I have updated WordPress to 3.9 not realizing your theme was not ready for it. Most things seem to be working but when I add a “Text Block” on the first website I can not add/edit any text content and on the second website the I can edit but the text is wht in the edit area.
With that said I heard it will be a nightmare to revert back to WP 3.8 so is there any word on when Enfold will be ready for 3.9?
April 17, 2014 at 9:52 pm #252902Hi Lester!
Enfold is already ready for WordPress 3.9. Please update Enfold to the latest version 2.6.4 – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/
Best regards,
YigitApril 17, 2014 at 9:56 pm #252905I did the latest Enfold update. However I did the Enfold update first then I applied the WP 3.9 update. Would this have caused any issues?
April 17, 2014 at 10:19 pm #252921Everything else works fine as I can tell. Nothing visually has changed on the site. The only issue is when editing in the “Advanced Editor” regarding “Text Blocks”
1) If I have a text box that was created before the updates(WP & Enfold) and I want to edit it… it shows no content and I cannot add any content… however on the front end of the website it still shows the content.
2) If I create a new “Text Block” I can not add anything using either “Visual” or “Text” tabs. It just shows a white background. Clicking to add text does nothing.
April 17, 2014 at 10:29 pm #252923Im having a similar issue where I cant even use the advanced editor on my pages after the WP/Enfold update. It just kinda sits there loading.
April 17, 2014 at 10:35 pm #252928Me too. Just updated WP to 3.9 and having same problem – only found a problem with the the Visual Text Editor so far. Can’t see the text in the visual side unless I hover over it and left click? Also the icon/elements to change to bold etc have disappeared. Also if you make a change on in the text editor it’s not saving the changes. Grrrr…. help please! Right in the middle of changing to make site live tomorrow – wish I’d never done the WP update now. Doh.
April 17, 2014 at 10:39 pm #252932I am feeling the same way, I should have waited and watched the support forum for problems.
April 17, 2014 at 10:40 pm #252933I did the same thing!! damn !! please help thanks.
April 17, 2014 at 10:45 pm #252936Yeah, the latest tweet on the right above seems a bit ironic now too….
April 17, 2014 at 10:46 pm #252937UPDATE: I cleared my Browser cache a few times and on one of my websites it is now working properly, however my other website (the live one of course) it did not fix the problem.
April 17, 2014 at 10:49 pm #252938UPDATE: I cleared my browser cache a few more time and it is now working on both of my sites.
Clear your browser’s cache a few time and it should fix the problem.
April 17, 2014 at 11:02 pm #252941I’ve done that quite a few times now and still no luck??? Still the same for me.
April 17, 2014 at 11:11 pm #252944While on your wp-admin page do a hard refresh of the page by holding CTRL and pressing F5 and see if that makes a difference. You can also hold down CTRL while clicking the page refresh icon.
April 17, 2014 at 11:19 pm #252947I FOUND IT!! My issue is WPML, I enabled all my plugings one at a time and when I activated WPML the advanced editor stopped loading.
I then disabled EVERYTHING and only turned on WPML, and yea… its the culprit in my case
This has to be a conflict with WP 3.9 and WPML, cause it was okay til the 3.9 Update

April 17, 2014 at 11:20 pm #252949There is still one issue regarding the “Text Block”. Any previously created “Text Block” before the updates will now just open up as if it was a new “Text Block” with the default “Click here to add your own text”. However the front end of the site still shows the correct content.
April 17, 2014 at 11:22 pm #252951Ahh so its Plugin related… good catch. I shall investigate mine as well.
April 17, 2014 at 11:28 pm #252952Thanks to “tetsukage” I was going to start disabling all my plugins one at a time and started with “bbpress” and it fixed my issues. I re-enabled the “bbpress” plugin to see if the problem would come back but the issue is still fixed.
Thank you tetsukage, I am back to normal.
April 18, 2014 at 12:13 am #252962I’ve been through the few plugins I have (only have a few) and deleted them. Still the same so I put them back on and still the same.So frustrating! Not sure what else to try? I’ve been deleting the browsers cache a few more times too and no joy.
Yigit, you said it’s fine for 3.9 but it appears not – will you be looking into it?April 18, 2014 at 12:14 am #252965I have been editing my site with no problems for the last hour and all of a sudden my Text Block is not working again. Very frustrating.
April 18, 2014 at 12:18 am #252966What worked for me initially was… I disable a plugin called “BBPress” and it fixed the issues than I enabled it again and I still had no issues. I just did the same process again and I am back to no issues. Very weird.
April 18, 2014 at 12:22 am #252967UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE! They’ve just added an update to the theme and it fixed the problem! Thanks goodness for that – although time to go to bed now. Good luck to you others – try it and sure it’ll fix it for you too. It just better still be working tomorrow :)
April 18, 2014 at 12:45 am #252973What update theirs no update on the site!
April 18, 2014 at 4:06 am #252998Hey!
For a quick guide on updating your theme take a look at this video on updating the Enfold theme via FTP: https://vimeo.com/channels/aviathemes/67209750
I’m closing off this topics since its already a bit too hard to follow :)
As others have mentioned you need to make sure all plugins are compatible with 3.9 and that you have no cached version of WordPress’s old visual editor on your computer. The new version is included with WordPress 3.9 and any cached files from it can cause issues.
