Hello,
This afternoon I updated the theme using the theme update interface within the Enfold admin settings because there a quite a few issues going on. I figured that updating the theme would correct those issues; however, my site is now completely offline. This is the message I receive:
This page isn’t working
sanberdo.com is currently unable to handle this request.
HTTP ERROR 500I am also unable to access /wp-admin so I don’t know what to do. FTP won’t even connect to the server. I’m hoping someone can help me come up with a solution. Thank you in advance.
April 9, 2018 at 9:31 pm #939418Hey,
Sorry for the inconvenience! Issue occurs on servers running PHP versions older than 5.6. You can either upgrade your PHP version to minimum 5.6 and preferably to 7.x or replace /wp-content/themes/enfold/header.php file with this one – https://www.dropbox.com/s/r389b5x4ippscyn/header.php?dl=0 to bring up backwards compatibility with older PHP versions.
If that does not help, please post FTP and WP admin logins here privately so we can look into it
Regards,
YigitApril 9, 2018 at 11:41 pm #939435Hi Yigit,
Thank you for your quick response. I actually have already updated PHP to the most recent version and changed the header.php before making this post, but I didn’t have any luck. I’ll share my FTP/Wordpress credentials in a private reply. Thank you again for your help with this.
April 10, 2018 at 12:20 am #939465Good news, I was able to fix the issue by manually installing the latest version of the theme via FTP. I would’ve tried that before posting, but I was unable to access FTP due to a server issue. I reached out to my host and got that resolved, and re-installed the theme from there.

April 24, 2018 at 3:43 pm #945980This same issue happened while updating to 4.3 – keep seeing the http error 500 after the install. I tried installing the new header.php file in this article but it didn’t do anything still seeing the error. However looking in CPanel in the enfold theme file I am not seeing an existing header.php file in there. Please advise.
April 24, 2018 at 3:52 pm #945985Nevermind – I downloaded the latest files for enfold and replaced the enfold theme with the new files and it seems to be working now. However it still notes that I need to update the theme even though it is updated to the latest version? Not sure how to get rid of the notification.
April 24, 2018 at 4:19 pm #946002Hi rkumar12,
