I’m using the Accordion element to create content. I’ve customized it in a child theme so I’m able to add more than just a title before it expands. But anytime I try to customize the text (in this example, styling the text as a header), that HTML shows up in the content.

This page might be a better example. On the first accordion, I’ve added an h3 to the preview and it shows up as live code rather than styled/header text: http://makingheadway.org/wordpress2017/clinical/

    Hi jennmartins4,

The html tags have to be added in Text mode or in Visual mode – by choosing from dropdown. I was able to get it to show the header as h3. If it did not work from Visual, you can switch to Text mode and edit html there.

If you need further assistance please let us know.

    Best regards,

Using the text editor/HTML isn’t an option for the client/employees who will be using the visual editor and have 0 experience in HTML. I can get it to work myself that way. But if they click on the accordion to then edit the bottom half, it makes the code in the top half viewable without even touching it. So every time the bottom half is adjusted, the top half needs to be recoded.

    Hi,

    Sorry for the late reply!

Have you figured it out by using “Read more” instead? :)

    Best regards,

I’m already using ‘read more’. The problem is the content above the ‘read more’ button…

    Hi,

The customization in the child theme could be one of the reasons why this is happening. For testing purpose please remove the customization and use a plugin like https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-show-more/ or https://wordpress.org/plugins/read-more-without-refresh/

The problem is in the backend. If I make something in the preview bold (or style it in any way), it works that specific time I save it. But if I click on it again to make any edits, the styling is changed to viewable code.

    Me making something bold: http://prnt.sc/euy758
How it looks in the preview before saving: http://prnt.sc/euy72v

If I click again to make edits: http://prnt.sc/euy6zx
Again, if trying to make edits: http://prnt.sc/euy6ma

    Hi,

well, I guess as long as it doesn’t cause any issue in the front end, then everything should be fine. However, feel free to deactivate all plugins and customizations to check if one is causing this.

Also there might be some corrupted files, so please delete all theme files completely via FTP, before installing a fresh copy from your themeforest account. Here is a short tutorial on how to install the theme via FTP, in case you are not sure how that works:

    Best regards,
    Andy
