Hi,
I am not sure whether the following symptom is theme-induced:
With certain plugins I am unable to change/customize announcement/shadow colors, etc. in the admin back-end. Upon selecting the settings option of said plugins, the HTML color code fields appear at first in the settings page but then disappear after a few seconds. While they are on display for those few seconds the fields are not editable.
I am placing this query on this forum as this is happening to 2 plugins from 2 different authors/companies….Regards,
January 5, 2018 at 11:04 am #893669Hey VP-LDA,
Could you please provide us with a temporary admin login so that we can take a closer look? You can post the details in the Private Content section of your reply. Also, how can we reproduce the issue?
Best regards,
RikardJanuary 5, 2018 at 11:24 am #893680Hi,
Certainly! Below login credentials.
I draw your attention to the following plugins:TC-Portfolio
Timeline Express
In each respective color customizing section you will find that the html hex code fields are missing. Only the description is visible.Thank you

January 6, 2018 at 8:08 am #893984Hi,
Thanks for that, though I’m not sure how to reproduce the error? What exactly do we need to do in those plugins and what should we look out for? I just want to say that this is likely not due to our theme, though you can try to activate another theme to see if the problem goes away to verify that.
Best regards,
RikardJanuary 6, 2018 at 12:21 pm #894045Hi Rikard,
Lets take the Timeline Express as an example.
Selecting the Settings and if you quickly scroll down to “Anouncement Container Background Color”, you will at first see the following field:Announcement Container Backgroud Color #EFEFEF
Set the background color of the announcement container on the timeline.Wait for a couple of seconds and you will see that the hex field (#EFEFEF) disappears and the lower line of text is shifted upward.
As I could not find a way of attaching screenshots in this forum, I have taken the liberty of emailing them to you.
In truth, I have changed over to a default theme and the problem persists, but because another independent plugin is also affected by this, I am just putting the question out there: Could the WP core code have been affected in any way?Thank you
PS. Sorry, just realized the email address I have is of the “no-reply” variety, so I didn´t send you the screenshots after all.

Herewith links pertaining to before and after scenarios:https://www.dropbox.com/s/y18rivil5m7pr29/before.jpg?dl=0
https://www.dropbox.com/s/3l7hkfuw3av88n8/after.jpg?dl=0The “before” screen lasts for about 3 seconds before the color html hex fields vanish and we are left with the “after” screen…
RegardsJanuary 8, 2018 at 5:37 am #894586Hi,
Thanks for the screenshot, though it’s very difficult to say why that is happening. I’ve never heard of a problem like that before to be honest. Are you sure that it’s not local to your browser? You could try to reproduce the error in another browser to see if that is the case or not. Also, if it’s happening with another theme active then it’s likely not a theme issue.
Best regards,
RikardJanuary 8, 2018 at 11:19 am #894646Hi Rikard,
Indeed, I have tried on another pc and also on different browsers. Same result.
I have also requested assistance from the authors of the plugins so if the solution arises I will be sure to post it here for future reference.Regards
January 9, 2018 at 5:05 am #895077Hi,
Thanks for the feedback, hope you get to the bottom of the problem. Though like I said, I don’t think it’s theme related in any way. Let us know if you should need any further help on the topic.
Best regards,
RikardJanuary 13, 2018 at 12:10 pm #896876Hi,
Solved it!
Turned out to be a plugin: Image Hover Effects CSS3
Once deactivated, all was back to normal. I had deactivated the plugins before but obviously missed this one.
Lesson learned: Always double-check everything.Regards,
