November 25, 2015 at 1:44 am #542080I saw from other posts that when using Color Section and Grid, that the sidebar will not display on the side, and that if I want to use those full width elements with a sidebar, I need to disable sidebar and use the widget element to display the sidebar content. But I don’t see how to lay that out. I set up a 3/4 1/4 layout. I can put the widget element in the 1/4 column, but I can’t put Color Sections or Grid Layouts in the 3/4 column. So please explain how to use the widget element as a sidebar with full width elements adjacent to it on the page. Thanks,
RobNovember 25, 2015 at 2:31 am #542084Hi robphat! In the work around you described the 3/4 & 1/4 layouts should be within the color section. See the thread below for details: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/inserting-color-section-pushes-down-sidebar/ Regards,
DakeNovember 25, 2015 at 5:02 am #542108Drake, I understand, but that doesn’t appear to work for me either. At the top of the page I have a header section in a Color Section with an image background and H1 text for page title. It appears that using a widget in a right 1/4 column below the header’s Color Section is placing the widget’s sidebar above the top of page Color Section with the header in it. Additionally, the content that I would need to place in the left 3/4 column is comprised of other layouts and content elements, but they won’t fit into a 3/4 column. So I guess that means I’d just need to use the shortcodes of the visual editor to add 4 1/4 columns into a 3/4 column. is that correct, or will that count as a nested column that this theme does not appear to support? It It doesn’t appear that I can place a grid element into a color section for column element at all. Is that correct? November 30, 2015 at 5:07 am #544279Hey! I’m sorry but I’m a little confused with your explanation. Maybe a screenshot of the layout that you want will help. That’s correct. Unfortunately, the UI for nested columns inside a column layout is not available at the moment. However, it’s possible to add nested columns inside a grid row element but I don’t think that’s what you want in this case. Again, a screenshot of the page layout will help. Use imgur or dropbox.
