Hi Great Team,
How to upgrade enfold theme 1.7 to 1.8 ?
Regards
Q
July 18, 2013 at 9:38 am #130243I would like to know too , but i recon its 1.7.1 not 1.8
By overwriting the theme files, will it break any other customised code, and if theres no customization , just uploading the files through FTP , will it cause any issue ?
If theres a step by step guide, would be good
July 18, 2013 at 9:43 am #130244Download your upgrade and check read me file, its mentioned 1.8 new version!

Thanks Team!
July 18, 2013 at 10:13 am #130245Oh yeah , its 1.8 in the version.txt , maybe envato takes time in updating their informations, though, but we shall wait for a support staff to let us know the upgrade procedure
July 18, 2013 at 12:14 pm #130246This can help you on how to update: http://vimeo.com/67209750
If you don’t use a Child Theme you should do 2 things:
1) Keep a .txt file with all of the changes you make in any of the Enfold files so you can add/modify it again after the update
2) Try to only update the files that have been updated in the new version. You can see the names of updated files in the version.txt file that comes with the Enfold download.
July 18, 2013 at 12:21 pm #130247What happened to the auto update in the dashboard?
July 18, 2013 at 12:23 pm #130248In my case, I only edited the quick.css file. So I just use ftp , copy the enfold folder and paste it to the existing enfold folder.
July 18, 2013 at 12:39 pm #130249Hi dsgnerfw,
Auto update isn’t available with many/most themes from Themeforest. As posted above, I made a video on how to update via FTP here: https://vimeo.com/67209750

Devin
July 19, 2013 at 8:58 am #130250HI,
Thanks for the video but ( /avia-samples) folder is not included in the 1.8 version, Shall we wait for 1.8.1 new enfold release or shall we copy avia -sample and paste to new 1.8 folder?
Regards
July 19, 2013 at 4:14 pm #130251If its already on your server it wont be removed when you copy over the 1.8 update. Version 1.8.1 does re-add it into the theme files however.
July 21, 2013 at 12:41 pm #130252Hi.
How do I update to the latest version while retaining the customised Enfold Options which I made in WordPress admin panel? e.g. the logo, favicon, styling, etc.
I never made any changes to any files, all the customisation was made using WordPress admin panel Enfold theme options tab.
Thanks for your help!
July 22, 2013 at 6:38 am #130253Hi,
You need to upload the latest version of the theme files via FTP like what Devin said. Watch the video. https://vimeo.com/67209750

Ismael
July 22, 2013 at 1:11 pm #130254This vid is excellent. Did a manual upload through my hosts control panel but the extraction updated everything seemingly seamlessly.
