    Hello Support,

How can i update the theme. Currently, i am using version 2.6.1. I am not receiving any update notifications on the theme in backend. However, i can see the “update available” for other default themes like twenty fourteen
I am using the theme as Child theme version 1.0. I have changed the name to Labhanshi.

Can you please help me to provide step-by-step instructions to update the theme, in order to use the theme as child theme with the same name labhanshi again.

    Please suggest.
    Thanks :)

    Hey Labhanshi!

    See: http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/

If you aren’t getting the update notice in WordPress then the username and API data is incorrect. It takes 12 hours or so to get the notice after first putting in the credentials usually.

Otherwise you can update manually over FTP which only takes a few minutes as well.

    Best regards,
    Devin

    Hello Devin,

Thanks for providing the link. Although i am still not getting the update notification, but i will wait for more time, no problem.

    1. My question is will i still get update notification even if i am using child theme.
    2. And should i also get update notification even i have changed the theme folder name from enfold to labhanshi (from ftp, in order to show “labhanshi” while someone view it using source code from the browser)
    3. To wait for 12 hours is a minimum time, or it may show update notification even after few minutes or couple of hours also.

    Thanks

    Hi!

If you try and update automatically with the theme named changed it will either not work or it will install/write over the current theme name and change it.

In your case, you should only ever update manually over FTP.

    Regards,
    Devin
