Hi!
I just got hit with an invoice of a couple of hundred of dollars due to Google maps api.
I need to make sure dynamic maps isn’t used, how can I set that up in Enfold map module?
Thank you!

Sorry for the late reply!
Enfold uses Google Maps and as far as I know, all other alternative maps are also paid when you have huge amount of visitors.
You could simply add an image to your website but that would not look as professional.Best regards,

June 10, 2020 at 6:58 pm #1221333Every month I get an invoice from Google for 0Euro – what kind of traffic do you have on your site?
By the way Yigit – using an image f.e. a screenshot of a google map will come into conflict with copyright law! So be carefull.____________
A clear distinction must be made here between the screenshots from Google Maps or Google Earth and the API (“application programming interface”) offered by Google for the Google Maps service.
As far as we know, Google itself does not have exclusive rights to the map material or satellite images. Google itself obtains the content from other third parties that produce the images. Google is therefore not the decisive rights holder, but only has a corresponding licence for use, so that the respective third party companies are quite likely to issue warnings about the further use of their images or maps – e.g. through screenshots.
For example, the aerial image provider Geocontent had already issued a warning in 2006 to an entrepreneur who used images from Google Earth for her company blog.

Thanks for the heads up! I certainly did not know about it but good to know! :)
Best regards,
YigitJune 10, 2020 at 8:24 pm #1221387Since the keys are unrestricted (per the instructions in the guide) they can be hijacked, which is what happened in my case. The API key can be seen in the code (according to google) if you inspect the site. This isn’t a problem of course if you have a restricted key that will only work on a specific domain.
I had more than 20 key’s that needed to be deleted and now I need to create new restricted key’s with the minimal required API’s
So the questions become which APIs are required for the map to work in enfold, naturally you shouldn’t have to enable every single API but only have the ones that are required.
June 11, 2020 at 3:34 am #1221489what is always a good way and even on GDPR Reasons is to show the map in an iframe.
This is “outside” your site and you do not need an api key for it.

besides that i will have a look what i have for maps : Maps Javascript API only is needed.
