- The topic ‘How To Redirect old .html pages to WordPress pages ?’ is closed to new replies.
Current site is on Enfold Theme. My previous site has many pages which end in .html and some links still take people there. I am getting some 404 errors in my logs which I’d like to fix by redirection. I have tried the Redirection plugin, .htaccess changes and cpanel redirects none of which work. The tech support from the hosting company re: cpanel said WordPress doesn’t work well with redirects. Any suggestions on how to redirect the old .html pages to my new wordpress pages? thanks -Ken
Hi Ken!
I don’t see any drawbacks of using .htaccess, have you tried with a plugin? like this one for example: http://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-301-redirects/
Cheers!
Josue
I’ve tried plugins, but they haven’t worked; thought I’d give the one you suggested a try, can’t hurt….and it works!! Thank you very much!
Excellent, glad we could help.
Regards,
Josue
